The best word to describe this experience is scrumptious. We started off with the chop salad. Then I had a burger without bread, medium rare, of course and this came very much to my liking. Moist places over cook the medium rare and then it’s no fun to eat. My friend had the Bronzino, which I had a little bite of, and it was melt in your mouth good. we had broccoli rab and sautéed mushrooms for sides. Both dishes I had a heavy amount of garlic, which we liked, but just be aware of in case you don’t. The service was excellent and they were very knowledgeable of their gluten-free options. That’s important to us because my partner in crime and eating is totally gluten-free.

From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with such warmth and welcoming. As you transition to the bar, they set the tone for an evening of wonderfulness. My only issue was I needed to close out the bar tab before heading to my table. The food quality, ingredients and value are spectacular. A lot of the menu items are things I cannot find prepared in CT. On that note I felt as if I was in NY. This is a 5 star restaurant with a wonderful casual feel. There’s an amazing piano bar as well for after dinner drinks. The restaurant was a place I found myself lingering all night.

Had a great dinner here! Recommended to try from very close friends…knew that Polpo was consistently great so wanted to give this place a try.

Food was good just felt that based on the number of people eating at tables and the amount of staff there appeared to be, the service could have been a little quicker and attentive. Same thing with the bar, There were 3 bartenders and it took several minutes before someone came to us. They were all on one side drying and looking. We had to actually flag em down even after one of them looked at us with a blank stare

Went several times-when it first opened and in the following months. We were glad to see the space used again, we used to really like Centro. Lion Brasserie is not the neighborhood place that Centro was. It’s hugely overpriced, for not spectacular food. Very heavy fare, very limited meatless options. But the reason I won’t return is that the last time we were there the owner out and out screamed at several staff in the middle of the dining room. It was early and most tables were empty, but the diners at the five or so tables that were eating all stopped speaking and watched the owner as he belittled his staff. If he behaves like that in front of his clientele, what must he be like before the doors open for business? I won’t go to Polpo again (which I prefer in the way of food to this place) either. I see no reason to patronize that owner’s restaurants.

Great setting outside but the food and service were genuinely terrible. Our lobster ravioli had been thawed and refrozen so many times that it was completely tasteless and inedible while our salad had no seasoning, and even our G&T’s looked like they had been assembled by a mental patient. The interior of the restaurant is dark and fairly depressing and the tv left on in the background really did not help. While they did have ample staff, can’t say any of them were properly trained so empty glasses were not attended to and for some reason we had two staff members clearing glasses and napkins while we were still paying the bill…..given the restaurant was fairly empty it got a bit weird why all of a sudden our table got attention instead of just doing the clearing service 5 minutes later after we left.

Great restaurant. The food is always delicious and great quality. Open for lunch , dinner and now open for amazing brunch on the weekends. Service is always outstanding. Super friendly bartenders and the bar has a piano player . In the summer beautiful outdoor sitting patio overlooking the waterfall. They also do take out and delivery. I highly recommend to try it! You won’t be disappointed.

Terrific! Lunch on the terrace was a delight…one of the few days without heat and humidity. The menu is varied, and has something for everyone. The food is wonderful, and attractively presented. Waiter, Michael, couldn’t have been more friendly and professional. Likewise, the valet gave us a warm greeting and an invitation to return. The Lion is a gem!

I LOVE the Lion. Living in the area we are so lucky to have this new addition. Deymar is fantastic, and Noah the bartender is a legend! The service is exceptional, even the valet, Carlos, always makes my experience perfect. I recommend sitting outside with a view of the mill. The french onion soup is the best in town as well as the delicious hot dog! Can’t wait to visit again.

We were excited to try this new restaurant in our neighborhood because we love Polpo, and same owners opened Lion Brasserie. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning. If you’re like me and like to eat healthy and on the lighter side, you’ll have trouble finding something on this menu. I tried to get a simple pice of grilled fish, but their 4 fish dishes are all either egged & breaded and smothered in sauce or wrapped in a heavy pastry and they would not accommodate my request. My salad to start was good. The wine was very good. The service and decor was also good. We liked the upscale, fun energy of the place too. However, we were definitely turned off when they added a bottle of flat tap water for $12 to our bill, that seems shady considering the already high prices. I may go to have a drink at the bar, which is very nice, and a snack but probably not for dinner unless they add some lighter dishes.
