Love the place and the ambiance. Service was great. I’m giving 3 stars for the food because their serving size was pretty small for the price you pay. Also, parking can be a challenge. Street parking or valet parking only. Not a lot of dessert options. It was good for a one time experience. I can’t say I’ll be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Umaya LA with a reservation to celebrate with my wife and friends the traditional multi-course Japanese dinner called Kaiseki.

Excellent ramen! Look no further if you’re looking for a healthy and satiating bowl of noodle soup. Coming from NYC I’m typically quite picky about my ramen but this place absolutely satisfied with my meal. I got the veggie ramen with an egg and bamboo, and I would go back in a heartbeat. The shishito peppers and sushi were also delightful. Recommend this spot for a more casual vibe while not compromising on food quality!

First time at this location. We’ve been to the Cerritos location for ramen a few years ago, but the Wilshire location has a full bar with great sake selection. Sashimi and sushi were so yummy, expertly cut. Spicy tuna and Cali rolls were so good, and Miso Cod was so delicious and savory. It melted in my mouth. The seafood ramen was one of the best ramen I’ve ever eaten. The fried oreos were to die for.

The sashimi was great . The cocktails were great as well. The food and drinks were on par with an elevated experience. High quality fish without an overproduction of sauces, but an appropriate and beautiful presentation. Inside was quiet and staff/ servers were attentive without being intrusive.

Great experience. I went with my family of 4 and it was 5 out of 5. The service is spot on , polite, and very attentive. I went around 6pm on a Saturday night and it was not too busy. My 2 daughters enjoyed their dinner and gave it a huge thumbs up .

Umaya is aesthetically is so pleasing. The ramen was on point. Sushi was so fresh! The Lychee martini was so smooth, you’d think that it’s juice. Charity’s service is great. The whole staff was attentive and sweet. The music was calming too. Definitely coming back again.

The ambiance is SO cute! Above the front dining area are parasols that remind me of those carried by geishas wearing kimonos. The vibe really brings in a taste of Japan to LA through authentic Japanese glasses and serve ware, an *actual* Japanese chef who is talented and makes very high quality sushi, sashimi, and all sorts of other yummy dishes. The food is fresh! That makes a huge difference in the taste and experience. The prix fixe menu for DINE LA 15th year is something you should check out! Try it all!
