At our Lexington, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered ahead for pickup. I went in and waited at the counter for assistance. I watched as my food was bagged and sat on the counter. There was one employee working both the window and the inside counter. However, the employee in the back was just standing there looking out the window to the front (not cooking anything) and there was another employee that passed me to wash windows. Finally, an employee who had been standing at the end of the counter (maybe maintenance) asked if that was my food on the counter and I said yes, and he confirmed before giving it to me. The hush puppies were dry and the cheese in the mozzarella sticks had already cooled down and was stiff. The batter on the fish was soggy. Would not recommend unless you want bad service and bad food.

I crave Captain D’s but I don’t get there very often. I always get the same thing, their regular fried fish combo. I change around the sides, but I never mess with my choice of fish. I went at 5 on a Mon, and my meal was great; the fish plump and crunchy & the sides (french fries & cole slaw) were really good as well. I’ll definitely go back

Ordered online, they never received my order online so I had to wait while they made it. Side order of Chicken was way over done, and they didn’t give me the six piece chicken I ordered as the meal. Missing 4 hush puppies also.

Food was really hot and smelled so delicious. Me and my mom shared a meal and a side for less than $15 so it was budget friendly considering these other fast food places out there. The employee serving at the window was kind and very attentive to my requests all while having a good time with one of her fellow employees inside. I don’t usually listen in, but he was making me laugh about something that was going on between the staff. Entertainment and good service. Is this possible in such a time? I know most fast food places have a very hard time finding people that enjoy serving. I wonder what is different here?
