The hot dogs were delicious and very authentic. The tamales were very dry. The Italian beef was a bit dry. Should have ordered it wet. Not the same as in the 60’s but very good just the same.

I stopped in during my lunch hour for a quick bite. This was my first and last time here. I ordered a gyro meal, gyro meat were odd shaped chunks not slices and the fries would have been alright had they not been refried several times. Save your money, over priced and the quality isn’t great! Food was overly greasy and I didn’t even get any napkins.

This is a good greasy Chicago hole in the wall place. Food is good, staff is friendly. They have some good creative menu items. The reviews complaining about the cheese are funny, it’s Merkts cheese not plasticy American cheese! Anyone saying anything bad about this place doesn’t know what they walked into or why they are there.

Semi-ridiculous prices for what you get.. 2 hot dogs a bag of fries and small fountain drink for $14? Jumbo hot dog alone for $9. The margins here must be insane. Even with inflation the cost of a wholesale hot dog isn’t measured in dollars. Will probably go elsewhere next time for a simple meal like a hot dog.

The staff is amazing and the food is even better! They are very involved in the community, which is something that I value in local restaurants. They are always happy to chat while the food is being prepared and even remember their regular customers and their orders.
