Great food, music, drinks, and service. The price point is high, but the quality and portion size help balance it out. I got the ceviche (Veracruz) and the avocado soup. That was a little more food than I needed. My wife got the salmon and it was a little more than she needed. 😉 So, definitely good portions.

Our food was excellent and the service was great. We had a wonderful lunch sitting outside and enjoying our food and company. Thanks for exceeding my expectations. I absolutely loved my lobster tacos !!! Keep up the great work, I look forward to bringing my husband with me next time.

When I first walked in, I had high hopes for this place. However, the food was very mediocre and the service was absolutely horrible. I ordered the Pork Belly with Chicharron as an appetizer. I expected moist morsels of meat but instead got overcooked meat that had the texture of meat that sat in a refrigerator to dry for a couple of days. My entree did not fare any better. I had the Seafood Molcajete with Plantains. The presentation was magnificent. They pour some flaming sauce over the top adding heat and fire to the bowl. Unfortunately, I had a bad prawn that was definitely rotting in the fridge for a while. The meat was all mushy and I was unable to get any solid chunks out of that giant shrimp. Not sure if having a stone bowl that’s constantly boiling a good idea when serving seafood. The scallops that were buried in this mess was way overcooked by the time I fished it out.

I was hesitant to check this place out as I am not a fan of Barbacoa. However, Coa de Jima was a nice surprise. The menu is actually cohesive and sensible. I see a lot of people here complaining about the prices which is pretty on par for Boise diners. I would much rather spend a few extra dollars per plate for better quality than have subpar meals. I felt the portions, quality, and flavors justified the dollar signs for me.

Great experience! Willing to accommodate large groups and provided excellent service. Food was delicious and many of the plates could feed two people. Everyone was super pleased with the restaurant and the decor and environment at the restaurant was fantastic.

It had been a awhile since I had a molcajete. It’s was delicious. Seafood was on point. Only found one scallop in it tho. Wife had the halibut special and loves it. Drinks were on point as well. Highly recommended

This place was really good. It’s been a long time since I’ve had an experience that this place provided. It is a higher end food when it comes to pricing, but you definitely get what you pay for. Everything came together well and tasted even better.

WOW! we had a great time here after hearing so many good things. It was as good as ‘advertised’! We came in for their happy hour and an early dinner. The selections are unique and varied and the liquor selection is outstanding. All of the staff were great and very welcoming. I had the lengua tacos and they were outstanding – my wife had the grilled octopus (similar to Barbacoa – same owners) and it too was very good. At the recommendation of our server, I tried a Mezcal – excellent. My wife had a Margarita and she thought it was one of the best she has had. We are already scheduling a time to go back with friends for a dinner and try more dishes.

These pictures do not do it justice! What an amazing time with delicious food and great service. Jackson was a great server and very attentive. I recommend the pain killer cocktail and pork belly chicharon appetizer!! Everything was delicious, but that was my favorite. Definitely coming again!! The “damage” totally worth it.

Top notch! The atmosphere is amazing and nothing like it anywhere else. This is Barbacoa’s sister restaurant and the vibe is similar but the food is completely different and in fact, a bit better.
