The only good things was the chips and salsa. Also the only Mexican restaurant I have been to that charged for the salsa. Poor food and poor customer service. Unpleasant experience from start to finish. Would not recommend.

I’m an otr driver it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant on the road this spot was really good …the service the Mexican Steak was on point so was the rice and beans ..I ended up getting a Flan mexican (custard) to go it was a 10 out of 10 not to sweet just perfect …. really good spot to eat I say definitely coming back again when I’m in Des moines

I had intended to have supper at Pho85, but for some unknown reason they were closed up tight! So, I went a couple of doors down to El Azteca Mexican Restaurant. I have never eaten here – but I decided to give it a try. I had the Hawaiian style fajitas … half chicken & half beef, with pineapple and bacon – $15.95. Absolutely delicious! A negative point, however – the flour tortillas were tough, like they were old. I told my waiter and he immediately offered to replace them.

Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in Ankeny. Really authentic and tasty food, large portions, and well priced. I’ve done dine-in and pickup, several times for both. Each were great. They are also extremely fast getting pickup orders ready. You can even get a margarita for pickup!
