We ate here before a show at the Lyceum Theater. The fried chicken with mashed potatoes and creamy gravy and maple glazed carrots was great. Our appetizers were delicious too. The clam chowder was tasty too! What a treat! Great place! So much history at this restaurant and in this town!

Fun atmosphere with lots of history. The chicken is yummy. Not a fan of the gravy. They close really early. They had no soda. They are gearing up for the summer.

The place is really cool but… The chicken was very dry and it was like it had been under a light. The brisket sandwich was good and the french salad dressing was great! I am glad I went there once but will probably not go back. The town is worth a visit and eating here is worth the cost but it just won’t nock your socks off. The menu is small. The potato’s we’re good.

A most excellent meal with great staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend. If there’s a production at the Lyceum Theater, make reservations well in advance.

The performance of “Sherwood” was THE reason we visited Arrow Rock, MO. I am certain we will be back for another performance. The acting, sets and venue were all first class, quite unexpected in such a rural, tiny town in the Midwest. The building was a church at one time, which adds a ton of charm. Seating is comfortable and there is a good number of options for refreshments beforehand, however the prices are too high imo. After the show, there are some great restaurants and shops to check out.

There are no words to describe how amazing this fried tenderloin was. This may very well be, the best tenderloin I have ever had. The breading was crisp and tasty, the tenderloin was thick and tender. Wherever you live, no matter how far away, it is worth the drive! Service was equally awesome!!!

Had a most delicious fried chicken dinner there on Sat, July 15th. It was outstanding. The service was equally great. A shout out to our server, Aramie. We will be back.

We always enjoy the food, the service and the historic atmosphere at J Huston Tavern. The fried chicken is moist, tender and crunchy. And the best tip I can give you is to get a wagon wheel size cinnamon roll to take home. Oh, the vanilla cheesecake.. it made me cry it was so good.

Don’t plan a holiday around Arrow Rock, the J Huston Tavern and just about everything else will be closed. Did I mention that this place is reservation only? That would be a nice thing to include on your google page, folks.
