This was my first and probably last time here. Picked this place because I wanted to take a sub to an event in Linville Falls and it was on the way. I found the sub to be mostly bread, with very little meat or taste. If only there were a Publix, Firehouse Subs, Jimmy John’s or Jersey Mike’s en route.

Pulled off I-40 to use the restroom and asked a local where I could grab a sandwich. He recommended Old School Subs. The ladies were friendly, the space was clean and the sandwich was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely better than the sub chains. I’d definitely stop again when/if in the area and hungry. Nothing wrong, but 5 stars indicates perfection. No one’s perfect.
