The temptation was to eat and have a beer at Bittersweet after a early day of snowboarding. After getting fed up with the lack of service I left. The 2nd best decision of the day for me following going snowboarding. Wow very nice surprise of quality and service. Kudos to Noel. She’s a great personable and helpful server. Food was outstanding. See Pulled Pork Hawaiian picture. Highly recommend. It had was served on a very fresh roll; high quality smoked pork; and with a delicious grilled pineapple. Could use less BBQ sauce, but delicious.

Worst service we have ever had won’t be back for a while. It took an hour for our appetizer to show up and nothing was offered to us for the inconvenience and this occurred on a Thursday night so trivia can’t be at fault. Also in that time three tables got there after us and left before us and there was only two in our party. Lastly the two servers working that night seemed more busy having a conversation with each other and the cooks than doing there actual job.

Great food. I ordered the fish and chips. They both were hot and crispy. My wife ordered the Bbq Hawaiian sandwich. She loved it. We shared fried Portobello mushrooms for a starter and they were great. First time there and they knocked it out of the park. Will definitely be going back.

The experience was like being downtown East grand Rapids as far as the food, drink, and service. The atmosphere was a gentle mix of class and modern which was very appealing. The food we had was very unique and tasty and very resonably priced. I can understand the attraction of this special place. Support to keep it good please. Let’s keep gems like this around.

All for supporting local restaurants with good reviews, But Maudes did not live up to even lowest expectations. Waitress seemed to be very distant, incredibly mean to the cooks and made our dinner a very awkward experience. We were not aloud to cancel our order after being told “sorry, your order is up” … 20 minutes later.. we received these burgers. I hope things get sorted out, just the raw truth.

Food was great, but the price for the food does not match the amount you get at all. Very small portions, even for entrées. I got the baked Mac entrée, and it was basically the portion size of a side dish for $15.

Tonight was large disappointment. The bar was understaffed and the wait staff were very stressed. Customers were waiting 45 minutes for a drink order. The bar was never cleaned as new customers arrived. My daughter’s order was wrong and after waiting for 30-40 minutes it still had not been corrected. When the waitress was questioned she said she would pay for my daughter’s meal. She was apologetic and looked like she was going to cry. I left a tip big enough to cover my daughter’s meal. Instead of fish and chips she basically was served 100 tater tots and a fish stick. Typically we have enjoyed Maude’s Taphouse so hopefully next time we will have a better experience. Please take better care of your wait staff.

Had the Fiesta salad and got the chef to do the blackened catfish on it. Was a little gloomy inside. Will be back to try more foods.
