Stumbled upon Friendly Waves while strolling through Koloa and am super glad I did. I honestly wasn’t sure what “Friendly Waves” was even after seeing the sign and walked past it twice before saying to myself “wish there was a place to grab a beer around here” searched Google Maps and found out it was a full restaurant and bar upstairs! Maybe Friendly Waves Bar & Grill on the sign might catch more people…

We had two wonderful experiences thus far with Friendly Waves. We ate in the restaurant and had great service and delicious wings! Two nights later, we placed a large take out order for seven people – Friendly Waves went above and beyond to make the order excellent. Everything came as expected and the burgers were DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this place for the above and beyond service and great food.

Great place – best cocktails on the island (balanced, spirit forward) in a casual, easy setting. Burgers are what you want when you want a burger in paradise. They put thought into making them unique to the environment and local ingredients.

Really friendly service – – nice place to sit and relax and stay cool out of the hot sun. Very nice food that – the pokey bowls were very good as well as the kids options for mommy and me class we didn’t have any drinks for a full bar is there and it looks like some very nice cocktails on the menu the service is very good everybody from the hostess to the bussers to the waitresses all had smiles.

What a cool spot! Super friendly staff and delicious food. All of the sauces we tried had amazing flavor and complexity. A great place to watch games with an open and airy environment. I recommend the pork belly and/or the poke nachos with the vegan coconut cheese but you really can’t go wrong. Wish I could live in Kauai to spend football Sundays here all the time.

Great food and service. Had the dat Burger and was one of the best burgers I ever had. Was around half pound and cooked perfectly medium. Fries were crispy with sea salt. Directions – entrance is on the second level, note the steps in the picture, go up them and straight ahead on the court yard to next flight of stairs and then left. Elevator is to the left half way across the court yard if needed. Restrooms are the the right in the court yard and then to the left after the first building.

I came here with my wife and we absolutely love this place. The food is insane. The flavors are so fresh and unlike anything else in Kauai. If you go to Kauai, this spot is a must visit. My favorites are the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Pork Belly. We came one day and decided to come back the next day because we couldn’t think of a better meal. Also, the beer/drinks are awesome.

Wings were not spicy despite being Buffalo. Nachos as appetizer came out with dinner. Raman bowls were average at best. Left the windows open and we were chased by flying bugs. Pass on this place.

Second coming to check out the new sports bar….(desperately needed in Koloa) just a bike ride away…had the wings with chili peppah watah (dipping sauce) nice lightly breaded with fair amount of meat and just enough pop from sauce…chicken nachos went down smoothly…but I must say on the next go the burgers are the way to go….moco burger was so good as well as the freshly cut and made fries…great atmosphere and service…looks like my new watering hole

Highly recommend the pork belly bao. The bao part is more like a pancake and not a fluffy steamed bao but it works. The pork belly is fantastic. It’s an appetizer size so I also got a 1/2 pound order of wings which were also very good. Can’t wait to come back and try them breaded. Both cocktails were nice. PK’s Passion was light and refreshing. The Mai Tai was nice and balanced.
