Ordered takeout from Milliner’s while in town for business. With a name like “Southern Smoke” I had to see how their BBQ compared to the BBQ back home in the south (Shelby, NC – see Bridges BBQ) so I ordered the Pulled Pork Plate. The staff were welcoming and courteous and the kitchen area, which is visible, appeared to be clean. Courtesy and cleanliness are great, but the real question is – how was the BBQ? It was really good. I received a healthy portion of pulled, delicious pork. I prefer a vinegar based sauce, but their sauce was good – it allows the taste of the slow cooked meat to take center stage where it can shine which is great. The plate included huge portions of the side items – fries and onion rings in my case – plus a nice sized hunk of cornbread as an unexpected hidden surprise. After a long flight there’s nothing like a plate of pulled pork to boost your blood pressure! In my opinion Milliner’s passed the “but is it really southern BBQ” test. They get an A from me. Good job! Keep slow cooking!!

Order their chicken dinner for 6pm … Got there at 6 pm and waited 45 mins for my food .. The owner came and corrected the problem… Long wait but well worth it also received and discount on the next order.. pleased with the out come.. DINNER was AMAZING…

This is the kind of food that warms you to the core of your soul (I literally daydream about their hush puppies). Clean establishment, fantastic portions, great prices, and real nice folks running the place. We always leave there fat and happy. Definitely in my top local favorites!

Happened to be spending the weekend in Hornell, read the reviews, close to the hotel we were at, online ordering, curbside pickup and best choice we could have made. I haven’t had BBQ this good since I was in Kansas City,MO. So good, kids split the 1/2 ribs plate, ate everything! We also had the Big Cal…so much food, so good. Prices are family friendly. Definitely should order from here. Quick curbside pickup.

Fantastic BBQ. The meats are consistently well-cooked, luscious, and tender. That is what matters the most with any BBQ joint. The sides are great also. The desserts are made by the co-owner, who is also a pastry chef. A must-stop if you’re in the area, and worth the drive if you’re not.

I ordered the sliced brisket with baked beans and Mac n cheese. It comes with a square of cornbread and the sauce of your choice. I had a sweet sauce and a chipotle sauce. My favorite was the chipotle sauce but both had great flavor. The draft I had was served up cold and full to the top of a pint glass. Great meal!

We were a little apprehensive about ordering the brisket seeing as how the plate was $17, but overall we were glad that we did. According to my fiance, his brisket was easily the best he’s had since moving to NY from Texas. It was delicious and tender. He actually ate the whole thing before he realized that he forgot about his BBQ sauce, which was hidden under a piece of cornbread. He also got the fries and hush puppies as sides, both of which were also good!
