In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

First time trying Dave’s hot chicken so wanted to see what all the hype was about! Both me and my wife got the medium one slider one tender with french fry meal and a soda. Don’t care for how with a meal a soda is not included I’ve never seen that but oh well. When the food came out mine must have been straight out of the fryer because my first bite of my chicken slider was so hot I burned the entire inside of my mouth. My bad! So my review will be a little skewed because I had no feeling in my mouth after that. The flavor of the slider had sort of a chili powder taste to it which I didn’t mind but my wife didn’t really care for. Next time I’ll try the little heat to get more of the chicken flavor instead of the chili powder taste. Fries were made not much to talk about all in all we both really enjoyed the chicken and will be back for other floors when my mouth is healed!! Lol

My family and I had a great time at Dave’s Hot Chicken! We went there for dinner and it did not disappoint. Restaurant staff is very friendly, the place is beautiful and clean, and the food is amazing! We loved we could choose the same sandwich, but with different levels of spice. The chicken is cooked to perfection, crispy outside and very moist and tender inside.

Ate here 2X in a week. The first time blew my socks off! I got the 2 sliders meal with medium spice (which is actually 2 big chicken sandwiches-don’t fool yourself ). It was classically awesome! Being a newbie, I asked an experienced customer what to get. They told me to add honey and extra Dave’s sauce to my sandwiches. It was extra good, but didn’t need it. My 2nd visit wasn’t the best. I got one slider, hot. Felt like I paid for it the next day. I got the rewards app, so we’ll try again. Definitely recommend!

I finally made the trip over and I have to say this is the second best chicken I have ever had. (#1 Goes to Mothers Restaurant in New Orleans) The chicken was tender, hot , juicy, and crispy. I ordered the Reaper and Mild to get both ends of the spectrum. Heat for the reaper was on point and full of flavor and heat. The mild was also tasty with an hint of zest and went very well on the slider. Dave’s sauce reminds me of a thousand Island/Western Dressing combination that was very good and the pickles were extra crunchy and fresh. The fries were crispy and hot with the seasoning it was a nice pairing but they’re the same as any other fresh crinkle cut fry from a fast food chain. Also the mac and cheese was nothing special reminded me of country crock you can pick up from the store. The Kale slaw was very fresh and went well with everything! Service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be returning again. A++

I had high expectations for Dave’s hot chicken in Madison because I tried it before at another location. All I can say is they did not disappoint it was very flavorful and was not too spicy for me. I recommend the two hot tenders with fries and Dave sauce.

Brian was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and an overall pleasure to interact with. He helped explain everything to me and took time to make sure my questions were answered and then some. As for the food, it tasted more fresh than other chain restaurants which serve boneless chicken breasts in the area, like KFC, Popeyes, Raising Canes, etc. The HOT chicken was just spicy enough to make you grab your water, but not unbearable. It also had a nice crisp to it. However the PLAIN chicken was a bit dry on the inside and chewy on the outside. Would definitely return to just try the other heat levels such as extremely hot chicken or reaper chicken! Also enjoyed the Hip Hop inspired quotes on the napkins and the simple but colorful decor.

Stopped in for 1030 lunch. First time at Dave’s hot chicken. Staff was friendly and courteous. The restaurant was clean and lots of room. The food was tasty. Will definitely have to come back and try another menu item.
