Food was over cooked and bland. Everything was terrible and very disappointing. Tried the veggie patty, chicken patty (bland and burnt), curry shrimp roti (only 4 shrimp in a $18 roti that tasted like flour), sweet plantains (not ripe at all) and the carrot cake (smallest $4 cake I’ve ever had, only thing that was almost edible).

I’ve never in my life paid $70 for 2 large oxtail plates. The plate was full of dry rice I ordered a side of Mac n cheese which was dry and no taste I also got yams which they gave me one small piece of yam they charged and extra $6 for the Mac n cheese n one yam the Mac was stored on top of the plate full of rice to make it look like you got a lot the cabbage had no taste my oxtails barely had any meat on it full of fat and I also ordered a beef patty which was hard I’m used to getting them flaky soft and full of meat I took a bite n was about to choke on all the hard bread when I called to tell the restaurant I didn’t get any apologies and was told to call back and talk to the manager on Monday and he’s the one said to only put one yam on people plates I can’t believe I told my clients to try this place out never again will I go there and I recommend you don’t go either $70 for this at least it could have taste worth the money

The food was horrible. Rice dry af The oxtails I ordered was fatty. The Mac and cheese was dry as well and tasted like it was made from a box and gave just a spoonful over a tone of rice . The best thing was the cabbage which was only ok. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Tropical Goodies is where you need to go. And they way over priced for the food

This place was highly rated and wanted to give it a chance and I can see why the rating is so good the food is great. This place has a authentic Jamaican feel I would know because I just came from Jamaica. The portions are great and the they even have authentic Jamaican drinks really recommend.

When I say my momma DAWG this plate in silence!! The food is absolutely amazing!! The atmosphere and the music was such a good vibe! We will definitely be back when we come back through. Hopefully they will have some beef patties next time.

This is the best Jamaican spot for food in Charlotte. I know because I have tried them all and added some reviews on here about them. The oxtails are a consistent hit 10/10 and the natural juices particularly the ginger though a bit overpriced is good. Try them you won’t be disappointed

Be very careful when order them from this place i order jerk chicken with extra gravy on the side they put beef gravy on my rice. They claim they put beef gravy on all the rice. How would you assume everybody eats beef . I Ordered a chicken patty they gave me a beef patty order chicken noodle soup they gave me seafood soup. This place could careless or they or just clueless
