Glad to see this neighborhood pizza restaurant has reopened. It’s pizza is as good as the unique pizza Papa Keno’s is known for at its other more established locations. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it’s located in an area that can be a bit quiet which can make it somewhat difficult to generate steady restaurant traffic so I’m hoping that word gets out and the nearby locals do a good job of supporting of it. We will be back!

When we got our pizza there was no sauce or cheese that had been put on it. We asked the staff why no sauce or cheese. They said yes there is. So we made them take the pizza back and look at it. She said hold on we will put cheese on it and stick it back in the oven. As for the sauce they went ahead and put some in a side bowl for us. The vegetables on the pizza were still raw. Mushrooms and onions were crunchy. It was a little better after it came out of the oven the 2nd time with the cheese on it. Then it got to be 8:30 and they close at 9pm. So they took away the ice tea from the self service beverage area. When I went to get a refill it was gone. They need to actually stay open and have everything available till 9pm. It was irritating because I only drink unsweetened ice tea. I don’t drink pop. I won’t be going back. It would have at leadt been nice if they gave us a discount for no cheese and no sauce and admitted they messed up. Instead they just took it back threw cheese on it and back into oven. No explanation or apologies.

Solid pizza but have had mixed experiences here. Sometimes the pizza is great and other times it’s been over cooked. It’s an attempt at New York style, meaning thinner crust and larger slices. If that’s what you like then you should give it a try. Their Gigantic pizza is great for parties.

Generous sized slices, toppings are added as they reheat/cook in the oven. The toppings don’t really broil/crisp – (canned mushroom slices vs fresh) not bad. $30 for two drinks and 3 slices this visit.

I was super excited to try this place out as I’m a huge fan of the Papa Keno’s in Lawrence. My fiancé, our friend and I each ordered one slice of pizza and a side of breadsticks. We got our buzzers and grabbed a seat at a table. The pizza that my friend and I ordered didn’t take long, but was slightly overdone and not very flavorful. We were also then informed that they oversold and didn’t have any more breadsticks so we would only get 2 sides of breadsticks out of the 3 we paid for. They also let us know that they forgot to put my fiancé’s pizza in so it would be a few more minutes. Typically that’s not an issue. However, they ended up remaking his pizza two times because one time they put the incorrect toppings on it and another time they forgot about it and when they pulled it out of the oven it was “disintegrated”. By the time he got his pizza, it did not look appetizing. The cheese was barely melted, and the crust was under done. I would have cut them a little bit of slack had the restaurant been busy, but we were the only three people in there. I’m super disappointed as this is nothing like the Papa Keno’s, that I love in Lawrence. This place is embarrassing.

I recently ate at Papa Kenos and I think it is my new favorite pizza restaurant! The cheese was phenomenal as were the other pizzas we ordered. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a great tasting pizza.

Lets just say when we eat now, if the food isnt up to par, we say, “Well, at least it wasnt as bad as Papa Kenos.” We were excited when it reopened so we could finally try it out. A regretful waste of money. I didnt even eat mine, I just threw it away and left. Toppings are cold, mine was just full of burnt garlic. Crust wasnt even good.
