Good food, quick service. We ordered the Falafel bowl and wrap, quantity is really good for the price. Very close to lighthouse outlet mall and Washington beach park. They have outdoor as well as indoor seating options, the menu is not huge since they are opening up for the season. But overall it was good.

The food here is phenomenal, the service here is excellent (Pepe) and the prices are very reasonable for how much you get. The chicken shawarma bowl is what I had and it could serve 2-3 people. Definitely the best food in town.

I would eat here all the time if I lived closer! The chicken shawarma salad bowl was amazing! Packed with veggies and so many ingredients that you don’t even miss the rice.

Great food. Chicken shawarma bowl was huge and fed us for days! Had heard mixed reviews but decided to try anyway—we loved it! And the staff checked on us many times to make sure we were good. Love that!

Dipped into the madness that is ‘Chickpea’ and emerged baptized in culinary brilliance. There is something unspeakably wild and unchained about the food, an unhinged culinary fever dream that seduces your senses and leaves your palate in a state of ecstatic surrender.

Let’s start with the positives. The flavors at Chickpea are spot-on. There was a generous squeeze of lemon over my dining partner’s fatoush salad. You wouldn’t find such generous lemon at just any Mediterranean joint in Middle America! The falafel wrap really held together, I would even say, the amount of pita was a bit on the superfluous side. Touch of pickle was nice, needed crunch. Now we need to talk about the atmosphere. The outdoor seating left something to be desired. We were encased in plastic ivy and the ground was poured concrete — absolutely boiling on a hot August day. Some plantings in the outdoor area would do much to improve a diner’s experience. Orange blossom lemonade is a must. Chickpea is definitely adding a hint of spice to Michigan City.

Delicious food, generous portions, attentive service! I thought the food was pricy at first, but changed my mind when the food came out! It is high quality food in big bowls. We also loved the fries – crispy, delicious seasoning, and comes with a marvelous garlic aioli dip. The server and chef were both very attentive and thoughtful. We ordered chicken shawarma bowls for ourselves and fries for our toddler (iykyk) and the chef stepped out to our table to warn us that the seasoning on the fries might be a little spicy. He made the fries plain and then gave us seasoning on the side so we could still enjoy it. Very enjoyable experience, would eat here all the time if we lived in town!
