My wife and I eat out regularly and always on the look for a restaurant that has that wow factor being said Axolotl is one of the best or if not the best traditional Mexican restaurant in Camarillo, Lalos does not compare and we know it , their all day happy hour is awesome All day everyday10$ margaritas? Great bar selection as well Can’t beat it I hope they do a grand opening soon so people can live the experience!

As someone who was raised at Mexico it’s really hard to find real Mexican food, but this place haves it and is delicious! Definitely not the “typical Mexican restaurant” where they offer you a bunch of chips with salsa that taste like water, this is real, delicious and taste like home… And not only the food is amazing, the service is wonderful; they make you feel like they are actually happy to help you which is really rare this days, I literally felt like I got to one of my Tia’s house to have a great time, great food and to feel welcomed. Definitely one of the best new spots at Camarillo 10/10

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. I ordered chicken tacos and specifically asked if they were pre-baked type shells and they said no freshly made. Even though they’re freshly made they’re like the store-bought ones you heat in the oven. Horrible. The chicken inside was in huge chunks that was dry, tough and unseasoned. Considering the price you pay for three tacos with a minute cup of beans and guacamole and salsa on the side it was definitely not worth it. However, their empanadas were very good. The posole was also good but had very little meat and an over abundance of hominy. Very disappointing as we were hopeful for a good option for Mexican food . Waiter was nice. Even though there were a few people in the restaurant it took quite a while for them to come and take our order. I also feel their prices are way high. $14 for a mediocre margarita is a bit much for me.

Came in for some shopping and saw this place. Decided to stop and have dinner great decision. The food was amazing, I had the mole enchiladas and my wife the Carne en su jugo ( this is a Mexican beef stew). Both meals were amazing, and I will definitely come back and try something else. Service was also outstanding. I felt like I was at home, and the warm vibe was on point.

Certainly not the typical enchilada rice and beans combo I’m used to. The “termidor” fish filet is delicious. Was satisfied eating half the portion but I didn’t want to stop. I had no problem with the price for a dish of this quality and quantity. The complimentary bowl of soup offered as a starter was really good. Fernando, bartender filling in as our server was attentive and delightful. Manager Jaime was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. We’ll be back to work our way through the menu and their specials. Nice place.

I came here because I had heard some great reviews from a couple close friends. Come to find out the food was undercooked and raw. When I brought it up to Sergio (I believe the manager). He laughed and told us if we don’t like them to leave. And that, we did.

My wife and I came to this new restaurant in Camarillo, we saw the margarita specials they had on the Yelp page and that really caught our attention when we got there the restaurant looked very clean and the decor was fabulous. The manager Jaime received us and asked us if it was our first time, we answered yes. And the manager explained to us about the specials they had and that they also had the 2 for 1 taco Tuesday special. He asked us where we wanted to sit. Usually they always sit us where the host always wants but I really liked this, giving preference to the client where they like to sit. The waiter Fernando was very attentive. We ordered a seafood tower and some aguachiles with green sauce, everything was delicious, they just needed a little more salt. Something that can be fixed because we put a little more on it. We ordered very delicious ground mango margaritas. and from there we asked Fernando what drink he would recommend and he recommended the cucumber margarita that was delicious. The delicious courtesy soups. We would just like them to give chips and salsa in the future. The excellent service, the manager and the waiter constantly seeing that we were well and that we were not missing anything. A very good experience and we will return with family, friends and friends.
