South Side Grill is a locally owned restaurant that has the best pies around Batesville. Their food is very good too. They have a great lunch buffet with great deserts. You can’t wrong with anything on their menu. They have some short hours through the week so make sure you check their hours.

It’s a little mom and pop type dinner. The service is really friendly, the food is good, and the place is clean. My husband’s family has been going there over a decade. Also, it isn’t on the menu, but try asking for a grilled fish salad. Anyone who’s worked there more than a year knows we order it a lot 🙂

Owner is rude and petty. Honestly don’t see how still in business a regular burger is 9$ and isn’t any better than fast food chains. And that’s if get it served fresh which wasn’t my case. Was barley warm enough to melt the cheese. They don’t cook their fish in separate grease than the rest. My kids fries tasted like fish. They have a great couple of servers but hate to see what they go through after seeing how rude the owner was. They are way over priced for their quality of food. I’ll drive the extra 10 miles and go to pleasant plains dairy bar where there food is excellent and priced right
