When we first came in the place smelt so bad I wanted to leave immediately but we were hungry and this was the only Mexican restaurant in town. It was not that clean spotted a dead bug by our table and the condiments. The rice was clumped and old tasting my husband said his food was very bland. My steak taco was very bland the only thing was not bland was my steak. The service was great they were very attentive I would not go back ever. I hate to leave bad reviews but honestly I had to.

Great dining experience! This restaurant is a hidden gem in St. James, MN. My wife and I found it by accident and we were very pleased we decided to go there. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was authentic Mexican. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very substantial. Very highly recommend!

Be prepared to wait. Was seated, waited 15 minutes without anyone coming over to our table. Waiters served the other booths that were seated after us and just looked over and walked away. Decided not to stay.

I came to at this place and I always order the same thing so I now what I get and this time the piece of meat they gave me was less then half of what they always give me very unhappy when I told the waiter and he talked to the cook but they not fix it I was told that was it that’s all I get very disappointed this will be my last time coming here

Plaza Jalisco has always served me well with great food and service. No question, this is where I would take an out of town guest if I wanted them to think well of our town. The prices seem quite stable also, given inflation these days.
