This place is historic. Come for a historic experience, don’t put so much expectation on it and just have a tsingtao and a great time. Had the ginger shrimp and it was salty and good. What a wild ride this business has been though, enjoy the ride!

Tons of street parking, even on a Friday evening. It was so cool to go eat there, you get your own private area with a curtain. I’d recommend to get the noodle dishes, it’s what their famous for. My vegetarian friend had no issues finding yummy food. The drinks from the lounge are amazing, be careful down the stairs! Can’t wait to go back!

The worst Chinese food. I have no idea how this restaurant is still in business. The people of Butte apparently do not know good food. They need to visit NYC. The food was way to salty that I could not eat it. If you do not want to develop high blood pressure do not eat here. When I told the server that the food was too salty and I could not eat it her response was “I understand.” She did not apologize or offer to make something else. I was very disappointed. The photo I attached shows all the food I left. After I left the restaurant I had to drink lots of water and pomegranate juice to flush out the salt from my body. Spend your $$ somewhere else.

Awesome experience. Friendly staff, food is delicious. Rustic and hearty. Dated but in a way that evokes a real experience while you imagine this same meal being served here 100 years ago to hungry miners and guys with monocles and top hats and ladies with those dresses that are like 12 dresses. Definitely a place with an amazing and Interesting history that could only exist in Butte. Glad we checked it out.

Fun place, our waitress was extremely helpful in choosing good offerings. The special fried rice and the sweet and sour pork ribs were particularly good.

Never had a bad experience here! The food is delicious and there’s so much history when you eat here! This is the oldest Chinese restaurant in America! So come and feast on a taste of history! The picture is combo C I believe. And the pic on the right is my latest visit. Szechuan Beef and shrimp chop suey.

We came in to have dinner on a Sunday evening around 6pm. We were seated at a table and the waitress brought us water and tea. We asked for a couple more minutes to look at the menu because we had never been there before. After 20 minutes still no one came back to take our order. Poor service. We ended up leaving.

I don’t know how this place makes it to the New York Times. The waiting is insane. We waited for almost an hour to be served. It’s summer, and the place is extremely hot. The food in every dish taste like celery. I think they overcompensate the missing vegetables and add a lot of celery to the dishes. I couldn’t feel the taste of the shell peas or the shrimp, only celery, and it have only eight mini shrimp. We ordered plain beef noodles for our daughter, and it is literally plain, with no salt no oil. Just beef and noodles boiled in water. It was disgusting. My husband ordered sweet and sour ribs; there was no seasoning, only soy sauce, and sugar. My husband said it tasted like candy. Not a pleasant experience, would not recommend it.
