If you are looking for a typical diner, this is it. Don’t expect a fine dining experience or food. The plated amounts were very generous. The sausage gravy and biscuits plate was huge! I would have been happier with less gravy but it was great. The ribeye steak came out raw after asking for rare, but it was fixed. Service was excellent. The tables could have been cleaned better.

Definitely worth trying it if you are near Oakland. Good selection on the menu, friendly and quick service, and the food was great.

Want to start with- The food was absolutely delicious! Service is what was a huge turn-off. Our server ( I believe her shirt said Gracie?) was incredibly rude. We were greeted with “What do you want to drink?” No biggie. Maybe she was in a rush. Upon ordering we asked for a hoagie the way it comes (lettuce, tomato, mayo-per the menu) She asked “Everything on it?” We responded with “Just the way it is on the menu is fine” and we got the response “Well it also comes with peppers onions and mushrooms. It’s been like that for like 3 years now” When we politely asked if it was possible to get the kids’ meal (Microwavable mac & cheese) whenever it was ready instead of waiting for all the food, her response was “Do you not see the other people who have tickets ahead of you?” When our meal arrived, we each said “thank you” when she places our meal in front of us” We got zero response. She did not return to the table until she came to place our bill on the table and said “One check?” No refills, napkins, “How is everything?” Nothing. I want to restate that the food is delicious but the service will definitely ruin your experience.

My family and I read about this place online for being one of the best diners in the area. Upon arrival we hadn’t expected it to be below a motel, but I swear it’s worth the try. For being a larger party we were very well taken care of, as the staff was very friendly and attentive. Half my family got breakfast, which everyone enjoyed. The potatoes were great and crispy and full of flavor. The other half of my family got the meatloaf special, a giant hunk of meatloaf, vegetable, choice of potato and bread for like $10. I ordered the captain crunch French toast, as I could not pass it up and it didn’t disappoint. As a sweet potato lover I also had to try the sweet potato pancake which was giant and delicious. Everything was cheap and good portions. Great spot for any meal of the day as breakfast is served all day long!

We wanted to try out this diner that showed up on our google maps. It had a lot of great reviews and love to support local business. The fellas and I were seated almost immediately (On Mothers Day) and our waitress Destiny was fantastic. The food portions were huge and delicious. Definitely home made cooked meal. Zero complaints about this place and would visit again. We are not from the area (NYC). I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area.

More than ample portions at a reasonable price. Met family and we all had great breakfasts. Pancakes were very light and fluffy.

Third Street Diner is at the Oak Mar Motel in Oakland, MD. You’ll enjoy some good home cooked food. Pancakes are large & Fluffy. Throw some of their sausage gravy on top…….Yummy! Great cheeseburger as well. Don’t forget the dessert case. You’ll find many choices. Pina colada cake was excellent. Plenty of parking.
