I recently met a couple of friends for dinner at Saffron while in town. Our girlfriend fell in love with the Gobi Manchurian which is the battered and fried cauliflower so she shared “the gospel”. The three of us shared it like an appetizer, but it could easily serve as a meal or be eaten with rice/naan. I actually enjoyed it even more than my Chilli Chicken. The helpings are generous. We could easily share. I also ordered the vegetable samosas. The outer crust is pretty thick. They were good, but I’ve had better. Because it was so heavy one was more than enough. The cheese naan was nice with the cauliflower, especially since it has a little kick in the sauce. When back in the Huntsville area, I’d certainly return and be fine with just the Gobi Manchurian. Would be really cool if they served vegetarian “meat” alternatives for the entrees, especially in that area, but there are enough options for vegetarians I suppose.

Good buffet; weak chai, but a good place for quick lunch.

The food wasn’t great. The waitresses were very nice. Price was fine for a buffet. Signs posted weren’t what was being served, but my main problem was the food tasted like leftovers, not fresh. I don’t plan to go back.

I was really looking forward to trying the food at this restaurant! I read the reviews and knew there might be a long wait. But that is an understatement. We waited an hour and never got our naan bread appetizer. My husband tried to order a second glass of wine… he ordered it when he got his first class but we never saw the second one. Finally had to call it and tell the waitstaff we needed to pay our check for the wine. They never apologized. Expect to wait if you go. I hear the food is good.

I docked a star only because I had the buffet which isn’t as great as cooked to order in my opinion. With that said the food was great, the service was on point and friendly. Casual atmosphere for sure. Bonus for me, I enjoy the Indian music they play for ambiance.

This restaurant is rather casual and unpretentious, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and it seemed perfectly clean. It almost felt like dining at a friends’ house. The food was excellent (though this reviewer can’t tell how “authentic” it was), the servers were very attentive and kind, and knowledgeable about the menu, which is very varied. We were surprised at how little we payed for an appetizer and two entrees. We will definitely return, because there were so many things we wanted to try!

One of our favorites. This food is excellent and the service is exceptional every time. We have a favorite waiter there and he always calls us by name and takes good care of us. Even remembers what we order and has it ready quickly. I can’t say enough about Saffron. Highly recommended. Too bad we only can give 5 stars.

Very nice atmosphere. The food is really flavorful, and they change up their buffet with new items regularly. The lunch crowd is surprisingly small I think Madison hasn’t discovered this gem yet. M is an awesome server <3. Would be great if they serve Rasmali. Best Indian desert imo.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is reasonably priced and it’s always delicious. The staff are very nice but the ones I have had in the past were very slow even on nights that weren’t crowded. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone at anytime except if they are in a rush.
