This is a really good restaurant with a strong focus on quality drinks and slightly upscale American fare. You can’t go wrong with the burgers or ribs, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. It has a relaxed family bar style atmosphere, and outdoor seating for when the weather is decent.

We were uncertain what expect and were pleasantly surprised. Located in a strip mall in a new building there is plenty of parking near the door. The place is inviting with big booths, plenty of tables for groups of all sizes and hand painted murals on the walls. We were instantly seated. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We started with onion rings. Exceptional. Old school homemade thick rings. We ordered the house ribs and chicken. The warm bread loaf with butter was excellent. The sides were good but need some tweaking. Side salads great. Fries are great. Beans, mashed potatoes and veggies under performed. They need to offer corn bread as a side. This place begs for yummy corn bread. For this reason I wanted to give Backyard Grill a four star rating but the group said five stars, and they are a tough group to please. The ribs are perfectly cooked and fall off the bone. The quantity is very large. You get value for your dollar here. We left with two to go boxes full of ribs and fries. The house rib sauce for me had a strong pepper flavor and a sour vinegar taste. I wish the ribs were served plain and sauce on the side. They only offer one sauce. The group loved the sauce. Again I was out voted. The ribs are five star. The bathrooms are new. The service was excellent to the very end. They have daily specials and all you can eat rib specials on certain days. The entire experience was top notch. We strongly recommend.

Been going to the Friday night all you can eat fish for years at Backyard. Had been awhile, so was thrilled to get the chance to get back there. Seems like they have changed the fish. It was shaped different, and the coating was different. Definitely not as good as it use to be.

This is the WORST place I have been. Afternoon with four other patrons. Warm bottle of beer, wife had soup supposed to be french onion, looked like dirty rainwater. I had chicken sandwich, all grease. Would have complained but waitress never returned after dropping off order. Wife had to go and find waitress who was at bar with other employees???? TERRIBLE food and service and excuse for employees. Save your money and time, don’t go near this dump.

We ordered the prime rib. I was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth! I would definitely recommend going here. It was also surprisingly affordable. Fed 2 adults and a kid with drinks and tip for $50 usually us adults alone spend more than that lol.

Seems the quality here is not what it used to be, haven’t been here in nearly a year, something is different with hospitality. Waitress didn’t come for refills, cheeseburger chowder not as tasty as it used to be, more watered down soup than burger chowder. Will go again, hopefully it was just an off night. Wait staff hovered over by doorway gabbing more than serving guests. Smaller portion sizes than previously received, again perhaps just an off night.?

The chicken and steaks are always perfectly cooked, servers are friendly and attentive. Specials are reasonably priced and truly special. Try their Schmitty seasoned chicken breast meal, a combination of Cajun spices and buffalo. I can hardly order anything else.

Food was good service was terrible. We went there on a Friday night 6/9/17 sat outside took a little time for our server to come around. Once we did order our appetizers came out without extra plates. We were asked if we wanted refills on our ice tea she forgot about us with that .When we were finished she asked if we wanted take home box’s we did again she forgot about us .Now both tables on either side of us had quicker service. Might it be the were drinking alcohol beverages and the make more from that . Any we had our first date there and really like the place but not to sure if we will return again.

Had Saturday special of prime rib cooked over wood grill. Was very good! They were really busy, but wait staff was attentive. Only went because we had gift cards. Will be back!
