The congee here is extremely good (favourite being the one with the pork and preserved egg)! Other dishes feel kind of like an afterthought in comparison. I have tried several different meat and veggie dishes but none that I would order again, with the Hakka-style ribs being the only exception. Used to love this place for congee but sad that prices keep increasing here 🙁

Our Cantonese friends say this is one of the better places in the area. All the dishes were very good and satisfying. Sauteed frog was scrumptious. Shrimp and crab porridge was enough for 4. Fried rice was perfectly seasoned and garlic cabbage was cooked perfectly. Service was very attentive. Expect a wait weekend evenings. Also recommended is beef chow mein and roasted goose.

Don’t understand why this place is not above 4.5 stars. The food is so yummy and definitely worth a 5 star… I’m not from Chiu Chow where this restaurant is all about, but I’m from Hokkien which is adjacent to Chiu Chow and our foods have so much in common. I’m feeling home dining here.

They did not have a note stating the alcohol ingredient in their chicken soup. Very unfriendly with people who have allergies or plan to drive or just doesn’t like the alcoholic taste in food. I had high expectations when I knew there is a Chinese restaurant that doesn’t come from Szechuan but ended up with disappointment.
