Owner came to help us in and chat with us! Super friendly and obviously loves what he does. The ox tail special was absolutely amazing. Love their spin on cocktail classics. We couldn’t decide on apps so we got one of each, some of the best we’ve had in a while. It’s simple, but hands down the best potato wedges I’ve ever had, would go back just for those.

Nice casual bar and dining place in South Coast Plaza. Food is more like fine dining and menu changes often but there are regular favorites that often cycle in and out. The clam chowder poutine is one of them, lots of clams. Burger is great as well as the steaks and anything seafood.

Came here on our way back from San Diego. Dumpling places were 3 hour waits so we kind of stumbled upon this. We were blown away!

New Zealand Lamb Chops are absolutely amazing (medium rare), same with Chicken soup, Grilled Fish Tacos and Mah Jong’s Cheeseburger. Then coffee with Famous Cheescake Stuffed Beignets. THANK YOU Chef Mike!

This little restaurant is tucked away in the basement of The College, located next to Bloomingdales. I went here specifically after reading the chef made an oxtail loco moco that was a transformative experience for one eater, and I had to discover it for myself. He wasn’t wrong. It is an amazing dish. Unctuous, flavorful and meaty and served atop a waygu patty with a perfectly cooked egg on top. It was served with shishito peppers that you honestly didn’t need, although they did offer a textural difference and an offset from the richness of the dish. The cocktails made me want to take up day drinking. The fish tacos were amazingly light and fresh, and the chicken and vegetable samosas left us wanting more. The best ending of the meal were the cheesecake beignets, which was the original recipe from Scott’s. Hands-down a spectacular meal I’d eat again.

The food was delicious! We tried the ribs and fish tacos…nothing was left on the plate! Dessert was also very tasty! The service was great, Cameron was attentive, provided great input on what to order. We will definitely be back for more!

Excellent & personable service by owner Mike himself and the lovely waitress Cameryn. I ordered the Asian chicken salad (finely chopped) – the dressing was mouthwatering – the chopped chicken, fresh and juicy!

We had a fantastic dining experience at MahJang. Chef Mike, the head chef at Scott’s Costa Mesa opened this new restaurant. We had an oxtail with gravy and shrimp off the menu. Poke, filet, BBQ spareribs, clam chowder poutine, pull chicken and rice were fantastic. The cheesecake beignets were delicious as well.
