Somewhat buried in a tiny strip mall in a small space, this nicely decorated place has been great for many years. It has outdoor seating when it’s nice out but sitting right off often congested Touhy Avenue isn’t necessary my idea of al fresco. Food is great and service is good. Parking is limited but manageable.

I’ve been coming here for years now and the quality of the food is still so good. The flavors are so consistent especially with the tortilla soup (10/10). The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because of the service. I’ve had the same waiter multiples times and I have to like hunt him down for things like more water or even the check. However, other than that the food is really good!

My friend brought me here for lunch – was my first time here. Excellent service,atmosphere and the food was better than delicious! Ate my whole meal without taking any leftovers home – the portions were a good size – that’s how good it was. She had the Chile rellenos and I had the lamb shank and both came with either salad or soup. definitely want to come back!

I love this place. It can get pretty crowded, so try to call ahead to get your name on a waitlist. It only helps a little. Everything has its own flavor and was fresh. We ordered a couple dishes on the weekly special menu, including the fresh made blue corn tortilla with pork and pickled onions. So so good! Our table also had the special scallops in chili pepper, fajitas, a deep fried burrito, a chili relleno, queso fundido, and guacamole! I can’t complain about anything! The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. They also have outdoor seating in summer.

As a Uber driver I wish I can give them 0 stars , I am absolutely not happy with the service they provided me … they made me wait 45 mins on a order , while several other Uber drives walked in … when I asked the lady what’s taking so long she said “ it will be done when it’s done, I dont work for Uber so I don’t care “ then confined to keep me waiting , hopefully I can block this store from pick ups

The first time I tried this please my steak tacos were the bomb, the best steak tacos I have ever had. The next time I came back two weeks later I didn’t even finish, the steak was filled with gristle. The salsa was bitter, the best thing I had was the water with lime in it.

After going to the mall near by we came to Wholly Frijoles and tried different items. We were sat right away and ordered drinks, then fajitas de camaron, chile relleno, tortilla soup to get warm and empanadas to start. Everything was good and the service was fast and the order was done correctly. They do have parking that is shared. The decorations are typical and overall I like the setup. Their menu is large and plenty of things to choose from.
