The shakes are phenomenal, I got a hot fudge brownie shake and couldn’t recommend it more! They also have arguably some of the best cheese curds in the twin cities. Good service and fun vibe inside.

Good curds. Burger and fries were average but better than fast food. Shakes were great!

Menu has gotten very small from the last time we were there. The prices for the malt’s were very expensive for the small size that you got compared to what you used to get. Don’t know if the Server ordered me the wrong meal or if was a kitchen oops but it was taken care of quickly.

I’ve been going to the malt shop for 30 years, however I hadn’t been since 2019. Service was decent but it took a noticeable length of time to get our food. Could have just been a shortstaffed day, which I recognize is more common now. Food is still great and the remodel looks really nice!! Cheese curds were “almost as good as the fair!” According to my 11 year old!

As my wife said, they turned a boring chicken sandwich into something really good.

We had the urge to tackle a malt adventure and this one was good. We had a hard time getting to the place with all the surrounding road construction, but we prevailed!

I miss the old (very old) booths but the new set up is nice and the food was great. The malts actually have enough malted in them, even without asking for extra they taste like malt which is not true basically anywhere else. We’re glad they have an impossible burger option which was great, the salad was fresh and well dressed, the live guitarist was good not too loud, and service was fast and very friendly despite being a busy Friday night. Fun to bring my kid somewhere I went as a kid.

We had our son’s 13th birthday lunch here today. The managers were awesome and they have a small room downstairs with several tables, a Foosball table and some board games. The food was great – just about all the kids ate all their food which is pretty good for a bunch of early teens. My son had the salmon which he said was good and I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken which was delicious. Everyone else had burgers or sandwiches. Excellent shakes and malts. Will definitely return.

The Malt Shop used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Now the menu is limited, vegetarian choices are almost nonexistent and hamburgers dominate. The malts are not very good. It’s no longer a family restaurant; kids used to live going there.
