Salsa Picante is a hidden gem in the North Lake Square Shopping Center. This hole in the wall family owned and run Mexican restaurant has a huge menu. Everything from starters to flan is authentic and handmade.

This place is a special find, a gem in the rough. The food is fabulous, outstanding and the owners/servers go a long way to make you happy. It has an authentic mexican feel to the atmosphere that will not make everyone happy- but they can goto the chains. This place is for me and my family and my friends.

Was charged for a 1.49 dollar drink I paid 6 bucks for a burger and a drink and found hair in my food. I’m extremely and extremely unsatisfied with my extremely rude service. Please send this to department of food heath services. This is a picture of after eating this food. Thanks…

I don’t recommend eating here they gave me an expired dessert, we got arroz con leche and it tasted nasty , and I had a stomach ache.

I’ve lived in Lubbock for about two years now, and I’ve got to say: best Mexican place in town. I am never ever disappointed in anything I’ve tried! I’m a girl who misses her mama’s cooking often, and it is safe to say this is the closest I can get to it without actually going home! Their tacos al pastor are perfect!

Visited this place to try something new. Turns out it’s more than your average hole-in-the-wall, but still with a mom pop feel. Knowing that it’s located in a Food4Less strip mall, you really can’t miss it. Service here is order at the counter, find a table, then they’ll bring your your food on ceramic plates. After finishing my meal, I had no clue what to do with my plate, so I sat there a bit and observed 2 older ladies (locals I gathered). Yep, they just left it all there and so did I. That’s your pro-tip if you get nothing else outta this review.

I have been coming here for more than 15 years for sure and I love this place. They also have the best enchiladas ever. Everything they have in their menu is delicious hands down. People are very friendly here and ive never had a problem with them.

The lemonade is like homemade lemonade. It’s really good not too sugary, but instead sweet. Asada tacos were really really good. There salsa were not spicy (tapatio is spicier than there salsas). I hope they create a spicy salsa other than that my experience was great… don’t let the appearance of the place fool you. Tried their lemonade after loving it i tested them by trying out there tacos and after loving that i bought 3 more lol. Try out this place!
