I moved to Myrtle Beach 2 years ago, and have been searching 2 years for a great crab cake. This place has it!! I can honestly say it was THE BEST crab cake I have ever had! I also ordered the crab pretzel and oh my! It was delicious and unique and huge. My husband had the pot roast which the kitchen kindly modified, since he is celiac. It too was excellent. The mashed potatoes were very good. Our server Kristen was great, she was a huge hit in the dining room tonight. She had every table laughing. Funny, friendly and sweet. Absolutely ask for her. Our bill was a pleasant surprise as well. This will definitely be our go to spot.

I got the veggie pot pie and the Brussels sprouts. The portions were so small that I also had to get the impossible burger with fries. I’d say the pot pie was interesting, a bit soupy but the flavor was not bad. The fries were wimpy.

We are MI locals and came for dinner last night and absolutely loved our experience! We had the crab pretzel, chicken bog balls, and two sandwiches. Everything was absolutely delicious. We interacted with many employees and everyone was so friendly! We plan to be regulars at HHH!

As locals, we are so excited to have this great place right here in MI! The crab cake was DELICIOUS, the orange crush cocktail was soooo good, my husband got the biscuit, covered in pork and pot roast(forget what it was called) but I ate half, it was awesome. They had live music in the bar area and the u shaped bar was very inviting and fun to dine at, we enjoyed chatting with the gal behind the bar, I can’t recall her name, but shout out to “insurance lady from WV” you made our night! Can’t wait to come back!

Had dinner at Hippie Hen House on Thursday evening. Tried my best to make opening day but had to wait a day. No wait for a table. I think the main Hippie scared people away. Very friendly staff that were all anxious to be helpful. Ordered the Maryland crab soup to start. Delicious and just like mom used to make in Baltimore so long ago. Then ordered the crab cake dinner. First, the slaw was as good as it gets. Not too sweet and not too vinegary. Just right! The French fries reminded me of my misspent youth at the Ocean City MD boardwalk eating fries. Might not be for everyone but they hit me in the feels. On to the much anticipated crab cake. After 75 years on the planet I’ve come to have very low expectations for crab cakes outside of Maryland. Been too disappointed too many times. That all stopped on Thursday. This crab cake could have come from any one of a number of Baltimore restaurants. The real deal and absolutely delicious! To all the Hippie team, you are hitting home runs so far!!! 10 out of 5!!!

Omg Crabcake Lovers. Brace yourself for the new Hippie Hen House restaurant in Murrells Inlet. Let me just say I had written off eating Crabcakes because there’s nothing like Maryland Crab Cakes, Stuffed Crab Pretzels and Crab soup until Now. It was just like the real thing. Full of Lump meat snd just enough filler to barely hold it together. Welcome to our area. It’s going to be a must do for me. However they just opened today so Please give them a few weeks to work out the kinks. Unless you’re like me and could care less I just had to try it. Service was Great too. PS.. They are still waiting for their liquor license so no alcoholic beverages

We ordered the crab corn chowder soup, crab pretzel, and smash burger with fries. Sadly, we couldn’t eat any of it. Old bay/salt with an extremely heavy hand, bland taste needed lots of pepper, and burger cooked well beyond well done (we weren’t asked how we wanted it cooked). Cocktail was solid. But give this place 3 stars for the wonderful staff. They were fast, kind, attentive, and apologetic. They comped the burger and even gave us a dessert on the house (yummy!). Atmosphere was what you’d expect for a local joint that closes at 8pm. I’d recommend to come here for lunch and specify how you’d like your food prepped.

First time eating here and was pleasantly surprised. The corn and crab chowder was worth the visit. The star was the crab cake platter. One of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had and I’m a foodie. Drink prices were very reasonable and so was the food prices. Will definitely be going back and can’t wait. Great job!

All I can say is WOW!!!! I had won a free crab stuffed pretzel, and we wanted to try them out anyway, so we went here last night for dinner. Let me say, as a non crab lover, the crab pretzel is a MUST TRY!!!! Bring about 4 people to help you eat it though…it is HUGE!! It was absolutely delicious, and we couldn’t even finish 1/2 of it ( there were 2 of us). We both opted for the hot pot roast beef, and it was delicious….very tender and moist..with just a hint of smokiness. Our server Kelsey was extremely attentive, and food came out quickly and piping hot. May make a crab lover out of me yet!! My only complaint is that the stools at the high tops in the bar area aren’t the most comfortable to sit on, but overall, we had a great experience. First time there, but it won’t be the last.
