Travellers, this place is a solid diner they serves delicious food. There are many classic New England seafood dishes here and several unexpected surprises. The diner is small but has a big menu and lots of specials. There was a wait when we arrived but we got our seats at the counter. Service is with a smile. Clam chowder is delicious and homemade. You can taste the smokiness of the bacon. Thee eggplant Parmesan was delicious and the tomato sauce tasted homemade. It was yummy. The eggplant was fried crispy and it wasn’t too cheesy. The burger was good but a bit over medium rare. The barbecue shrimp was the big taster of the day. It was really good. This was a nice solid lunch stop. Check it out. We recommend.

Good old all American diner, I had the lobster Benedict which was a new one on me, nice but lobster lacking a bit in taste, my daughters pancakes was so big, impossible to eat. Coffee was good n fresh, warm friendly staff, enjoyable visit

Been going here for years and always good except this visit. The waitress we had on Thursday around 3pm was awful. I ordered a steak bomb with cheddar. It came with American cheese. Didn’t say anything. Then we asked for an extra plate to share our fries and onion rings when the food came to our table. That showed up halfway through the meal. The finale was we got a strawberry shortcake for dessert. There was no cake. Just frozen strawberries, whipped cream and some sort of cookie instead of cake. We told the waitress and she said it’s a biscuit. We don’t want a biscuit (lol), we want the traditional cake. The special said Strawberry Shortcake. Not strawberry biscuit! Anyhow it wasn’t easy to have her remove it. There was no manager on staff. Historically there’s always one of the 2 sisters who own the restaurant on premise who are great. Hope they read this as they know the importance of quality customer service.

We were here on Vaca from 8/26/23-9/1/23 the service from Charlie’s Place is absolutely incredible they are fast and I mean fast…the food is so delicious and they give you way more than you expect…the guys and girls are some of the most friendly and accommodating we have ever come across..absolutely love! ❤️ love this place…make sure you stop in you won’t regret it!!❤️

Charlie’s Place in Gloucester is a good place for fried seafood. I have been there many times over the years. Today I had the fried clams, and my wife had the fried scallops from the takeout menu. A 2-minute drive away is Good Harbor Beach where we sat and ate our food. The menu has many choices for both breakfast and lunch with sandwiches and dinners. The seating area is small, especially during the pandemic. We have never been disappointed with any of our choices. Friendly, relaxed. and casual. Prices are fair and the quantity is enough.
