My wife and I were excited to go here with all the great reviews but it was not really as great as the reviews lead you to believe.

A group of four of us from out of town randomly chose here and everyone of us loved the food! Everything from the apps, to our entree and the four desserts we picked, we thought were delicious. The marinara sauce was one of the best I have had. Our server, Kelly was great and had a lot of knowledge about the menu. She gave us great recommendations. The rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. They made it a great experience.

Oh my goodness, absolutely delicious the penne and meatballs, incredible. We had the mussels to start in a white wine garlic sauce, the best flavor ever! Then the wedge salad with the blue cheese dressing was so good, but didn’t seem like your typical wedge salad. But I would have it again!!

Giordano’s is that classic Italian restaurant that you bring all of your closest friends and family to when you want a truly special meal experience. The food, service, atmosphere is top shelf without being stuffy. Venture out of Scottsdale for delicious east coast style delicious Italian cuisine. Bravo.

Our low rating is that their portions are very large, so we asked for an extra plate with the single order of lasagna. Unfortunately when the bill arrived we were charges $7 for splitting the meal. We did NOT ask for a split meal and are aware that many restaurants charge for splitting (and yes we saw the fee for splitting on the menu). We just wanted to share the entrée. This is the only restaurant we’ve been too that charged for asking for an extra plate (and we share most every meal we have out). Disappointing – we won’t be back!

Spot on a true Italian restaurant with authentic dishes and top notch service. Eaten here many times and never disappointed at all. Portions large and the red sauce is a 10 out 10, made fresh daily each morning the owner told me.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST overall experience I have had in a LONG time. Waitress and waiters are genuinely polite caring an down to earth. They made my daughter and I feel super comfortable although we had never been there. They examined everything from the menus to the desserts to the specials of the day. The ambiance is so nice you don’t even want to leave. We went at 5pm before it got too crowded. Remember to make a reservation. We had the special which was shrimp scampi over lobster ravioli, my daughter had manicotti . She is vegetarian and they had many options to accommodate that she could have chosen from. We had tiramisu and cheesecake to die for and only $9 each. We got another cheesecake with strawberry topping to take home. We don’t drink but great wine options available as well huge selection etc. From start to finish a flawless seamless fabulous 10 star experience!!!!!Thank you Adrianna (I think that was our waitress name). You are the best!!!!!

I would first like to mention that if I was reviewing based solely on the flavor of the food, the rating would be much higher.

Unprofessional and irrational owner/manager Adele. From other low reviews, it seems to be the common complaint and underlying theme. Despite a noticeably snobbish and condescending attitude by our hostess from the beginning, who we later learned was in fact the owner, we simply overlooked her initially perceived uninviting conduct and remained concerned with simply ordering and enjoying our night to celebrate my father’s birthday. Initially from when we first stated we were vegetarian, Adele had uninterested facial expressions when asking her for suggestions. Shortly thereafter, my mother mentioned that she wasn’t hungry or particularly looking to order anything but may just enjoy the forthcoming appetizers and share a sample from my father’s entrée, upon when Adele stated there would be an automatic split charge. However, upon becoming aware of this condition we reconfirmed that the entrée was not to be split and would be served as a single entrée for one individual. She continued insinuating in a loud and disrespectful tone that my mother was guilty of admission of some sort, and it would be too late to recant her words and would be charged, repeatedly and demonstratively stating that was how they did it at her restaurant. Regardless of any supposed policy, once we clarified our position that my mother wasn’t planning on eating there was no need for Adele to continue to harass or indict us on a split charge in belittling and arrogant fashion while indoctrinating us on how we will plan to eat our dinner. As Adele continued to become more belligerent over a seemingly trivial matter, I respectfully asked her to change her tone upon when she walked over with a hostile mannerism, having the audacity to say she wouldn’t while attempting to deflect accusations in personal fashion. Ultimately despite any nominal split charge, we were certainly not going to patronize or condone such condescending etiquette from any staff at any restaurant, especially an owner serving first-time customers with such unwelcoming and conceited unapologetic behavior. Thus, we simply decided to leave and proceed with our evening elsewhere at the many reputable and familiar options with personable environments throughout the Carefree/Cave Creek and greater Scottsdale area. Based on our initial experience, hopefully future visitors will not only be prepared, but the owner will professionally attempt to handle such matters humbly within her role and industry standards with every and any customer.
