Great atmosphere for dinner. Location and parking was easy. Well decorated and clean. Staff very friendly and customer service oriented. Food delicious! Tried the award winning schnitzel cordon blue. Lived up to the hype. Dinner companion had the crab cakes and declared them tasty and not too rich. Both of us had a baked potato that was perfect. Enjoyed food with beer and cocktail !

Came here for a celebration dinner so wasn’t sure what I’d be able to eat being gluten free. I hadn’t found any reviews mentioning it so was hoping they could work with me. The waiter suggested one of their steaks as he said their seasonings did not contain gluten. Regarding sides, he suggested the baked potato. I mentioned that I’m also dairy free and asked if it would be possible to get the potato without butter. The server informed me that it was no problem and offered as an alternative to put their herbed olive oil on top. The dish also came with a broccoli cauliflower mix which is typically cooked in butter but they steamed it instead. Overall there weren’t a lot of options to eat here but I was grateful that they were willing to work with my dietary restrictions so that I could eat alongside my companions for this celebratory dinner.

I didn’t have a steak, and ordering anything other than what they claim to be great at is often dicey.

I love this little town I live in, however it’s rough being gluten-free here as most of the restaurants in town that are open for dinner have slim pickings. As I discovered when opening up the menu during our first visit to Jack’s, none of the possible gluten-free dishes were marked and the waiter didn’t seem attentive enough to answer any questions on what is gluten free or not, so I just ordered what seemed safe. We were offered bread, but of course it was not gluten-free. That being said, I had a lot more options than the Gateway, so that was nice. We started off with drinks and I was brought an extra dry martini when I ordered an extra dirty. No worries, mistakes happen, but I couldn’t help but feel our waiter was ignoring us because we were the youngest patrons in the restaurant (and we are in our 40’s ). The surrounding tables were promptly attended to and served while I had to wait a bit for him to come back so I could request the olive juice for my drink. They were nice enough to make a brand new one. Both my husband and I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon Oskar, mine medium rare and his medium, and they were perfect. We had this with a side of the Bavarian fried potatoes, which were also delicious. The red house wine I ordered with my meal was surprisingly good. Although the food was great, we were still hungry when we left because the portions were smaller than what we usually cook (I am a distance runner so I eat a lot!). To be fair, we could have ordered an appetizer, salad and a dessert, but our budget for the evening only fit our entrees and a tip.

We were visiting town and wanted a nice dinner. I now consider Jack Niemann’s Black Forest Steak House the be among the best I have been to across the country. The service was perfect, attentive and ready to help. The food tasted great and was perfectly cooked. The scallops were delicious. The mushrooms had great flavor. The Fillet Mignon was tasty and cooked as requested. We enjoyed the music and atmosphere. They also had a wine I love, Conundrum. Thanks for a great evening, your staff is to be congratulated!

My girlfriend and I came here after having a terrible experience at Packers in Semiahmoo. We were so happy we did! The service was outstanding and the food was even better! We ended up meeting the owner and she was absolutely lovely. Thanks so much for an awesome time! We will definitely be back!

Words cannot describe the juiciness, the succulent and the tenderness of the steak they serve! Lighting and the overall atmosphere adds the cherry on top of the cake. The restaurant is located in a former US Post building, which its architecture definitely adds up to its romantic mood.

The BEST steak and sangria I have ever had! I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon with their fried potatoes and veggies. It was amazing!! Best steak I have ever eaten – the kind that melts in your mouth. The perfect portion as well where you eat enough to feel full and satisfied, but not stuffed. The waiter told me that the sangria on the list wasn’t amazing and had them make me a different one and it was so, so good. So sweet and very strong. The waiters name was Mario and he was excellent. So kind and funny and did an amazing job serving us tonight. I will be recommending this place to everyone. The restaurant itself was very clean and a very neat building. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The atmosphere in this restaurant was great and the staff we’re very nice. Unfortunately I think the bartender was trying to help out and having a bad night. She forgot my soup, then brought me the wrong entree. However, everything was delicious the creamed spinach probably could have used a little more flavor. My husband’s steak was average as was his old fashioned. I did ask to have the desserts taken off since there are so many mistakes made which they accommodated. Although I rated them as average I would try again maybe off peak time and stick with the German entrees.
