The employee was rude. Food was alright, my soft boiled egg looked better than the photos of hard boiled eggs. Do not recommend the rice pudding.

The St. Roch Market itself is airy and bright, so it’s a nice ambience. The food is well-priced, but maybe missing a little flavor/maybe a little one-dimensional. Overall a good experience though, and I’d come back for some appetizers while grabbing some drinks.

Perfectly cooked noodles in a delectively spicy and sweet sauce with typical veggies and delicious pork belly. All of an egg on top. I have avoided St. Roch because of the whole gentrification thing and memories of what a real neighborhood Eastern Market was like when I lived on Capitol Hill in DC. Finally broke down and so glad I went in and so glad I chose this restaurant.

I hate the inconsistency. Been coming here for a year because the food is good and the woman is kind but the man who works there- Alex- is RUDE & doesn’t make the food as good. He also makes the smallest portions. This is the smallest spring roll I’ve seen in my life. All for $11

The beef stew was PHENOMENAL. 13 bucks of absolute delight. The spice mix he gives you on the side was EPIC. Rich in flavor with the red chillies especially. A generous portion of beef and fresh crunchy veg. I absolutely loved it and will be back for more. Pairs well with eel sauce, we found out at home.

Got the laksa bowl. It was pretty good but was not as flavorful as I had hoped. It took quite a while to receive my food, but I think they were understaffed at the time. A good choice, but not necessarily a favorite spot.

The food at Laksa NOLA is fantastic. We shared the Shumai and the Yahoo Shrimp egg rolls and ordered more to go along with the rainbow salad. The egg rolls were crispy, fresh and perfectly done and tender inside, simple and delicious. The dumplings were juicy and succulent, and the homemade sauces for everything were amazing!
