I’m always on the lookout for the best bbq! We had just traveled hours through parts of Yellowstone and needed something to fill us up! We had the Brisket. I am the biggest food snob, pickiest eater and biggest judge of food. No lie. 5 of us ate here. It was hands down the freaking best brisket I’ve EVER had! I’m so sad we don’t live closer! I mean…can you ship it??!! My sons who are just as picky agreed this is the best ever! Not at all dry, perfect blend of lean, with just a tad of fat (flavor) on top. Absolutely perfectly sliced. We have been all over the US and can honestly say this is the best we’ve had. I cannot believe I didn’t order extra for the next day! You are a fool if you don’t stop here! My dad had the Brisket sandwich. Also said that was amazing. The buns they use are so delicious too! Fresh, soft and will even toast them if you want…I did and ate one without any meat on it and wished I ordered another! Legit …melt in your mouth brisket. Please come to Wisconsin with your “BBQ Shack” we need you!! My family alone will keep you in business lol!!!

Great roadside feeding spot. The BBQ was amazing! Kids got the pulled port and I got the smoked turkey – all fantastic. The grits were out of this world and the wife said the green Chile stew was unbelievable. Honestly, don’t think you could go wrong eating here. There are some picnic tables under a pergola – word of warning – it can get very windy.

If not paying attention to the road, you can quickly miss this little spot, located off of a gas station parking lot. The food was great, I had the smoked brisket sandwich, with their sauce that gives off a faint flavor of apricot, sweet and spicy, poured with the meat, it was excellent. My husband had pulled pork with the same sauce, and he loved it. We also had a side of cheesy corn. It had some smoked pork mixed in (very minimal, but it improves the taste very well). The service was friendly. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quick bite and want to avoid the restaurant crowd.

A must stop. Get the brisket; either regular sandwich or chops brisket. Hands down 5 star. Limited on drink selections but can’t go wrong with a nice cold drink on a hot summer day and you’re right next to the gas station anyway with more drink selections. Cheese corn was great and coleslaw too.

Best BBQ I’ve had West of Texas, not that Texas has the best BBQ, that’s just generally where it stops. Great Brisket and Turkey, loved the brisket too much to try anything else, also interesting and broad assortment of sauces, served on the side, the meat stands on its own, as it should. Big fan of mixing the mustard and hot sauces together for a unique zing. The mustard sauce is already sort of a mix between classic Carolina gold and vinegar sauces, but excellent on its own. Returned immediately the next day for more, head and shoulders above the tourist food in Gardiner.

The closest BBQ brisket to the south. We got slice beef brisket sandwiches and they were delicious with a capital D! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone coming to Gardiner. Just a small drive out of the town next to the gas station Sinclair, Dino mart. If you get a chance check it out very friendly folks.

After being in town for a few days, I can say this place has the best food in the area. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork, bbq beans, and coleslaw. The food was hot, perfectly prepared, and good tasting. It was a bit pricey, but we are realizing that food in this area is going to be higher than normal. We would definitely return!

While visiting Yellowstone, our options were bleak. A sea of tourist traps lay on the horizon of Gardiner, MT. Greasy gross food. Alas, we stumbled upon this small bbq joint a little ways down the road. Thank god we found it, the food was absolutely excellent, and prices were good too. Honestly some of the best bbq we’ve had!

Legitimately great BBQ and the best restaurant option near Gardiner. We ultimately came here twice (second time had a smoked portabello sandwich and cheesy corn instead of baked beans). Brisket is tender with a smoky bark, pulled pork is well done. Cole slaw is lightly dressed, both the baked beans and cheesy corn were fantastic sides. Second time we also got pickles and onions which were a nice addition of tart to counteract the fatty brisket. Definitely get there early as they were running low on sides when we got there around 4pm. Ribs are only typically available on music nights where they have a musician come play. There is a self serve sauce station with solo cups; 4 sauces available (thick and sweet soul shine, vinegar, mustard, spicy). Rubs and bottles of sauce are also available for sale.
