I had the pleasure of dining at Captain Tom’s seafood restaurant recently, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The fact that they are open late at night and accommodate last-minute tables is a testament to their dedication to customer service.

Always creating freshly shucked oysters and delicious fried seafood. The Micheladas are the best in Texas. Ask them to add a shrimp or oyster to them to make it extra decadent. If there’s a line to wait to sit down? Get in it! Totally worth it.

One of my favorite places in Houston for fried seafood. Their tartar sauce is so delicious for no reason, and their Micheladas are the best in town. The oysters are pretty good too. Gumbo is a must every time. Seating can be a bit tricky, so larger parties might have a hard time.

If your in the Katy area you know this place. Although the prices are high, the service is good and the beer is cold. I’m from New Orleans, I’m hard to please when it comes to seafood but this place is as good as it gets in Texas for this reason I gave it 5 stars. I can’t eat fried foods to often but when I’m in the mood I’m headed here. Fresh oysters, fried shrimp, fish, good Gumbo too. It’s definitely worth the stop if your in the area. The place gets ridiculously crowded starting around 11.15 am..until well after lunch. Seating is limited. You will find yourself elbow to elbow with perfect strangers eating in harmony. Be prepared for a minimum lunch ticket of $50 or more for 2.. still better than all these other “Cajun” restaurants which are clearly not.

This place, fondly referred to as “El Barquito,” is a must visit every time I travel to the Houston area. Best oysters on the halfshell I’ve had anywhere. The micheladas are legendary!

Great beer, great atmosphere. Love the oyster. Everything is good. Personally I prefer less salt in some dishes. Will come back soon.

Half shell oyster was soooo fresh and delicious!!! The seafood platter included fries, crab, shrimp, catfish. The catfish was THE BEST among the rest! Staff are friendly. The seats are like a bar, surrounding the center. It’s an amazing place to enjoy nice oyster and catfish!

Captain Tom’s is a well known and beloved establishment by many Houston locals famous for serving fresh shucked oysters at a low price. While I can see the appeal of large numbers of oysters at a low price, I don’t think this establishment was for me.
