Extremely impressive. This small restaurant has the best dumplings I’ve ever tasted. Everything, ranging from their soup dumplings, to their pan fried dumplings, to even their fried bread, tasted heavenly. We drove 40 minutes to try this food and it exceeded all expectations. The only thing I would reccomend is to be prepared to wait or to go there at around 3pm. They have very limited seating and there are lines out the door most of the time. I cannot wait to go back!

Great restaurant for Shanghai style Chinese cuisine, mainly serving fresh dumplings and buns. The food is fresh, tasty, and hot, and the service is quick. My only complain is that the restaurant is a bit cramped, so it is a bit difficult to maneuver inside. But overall a very enjoyable experience

Absolutely incredible! From the staff to the food everything was perfect. The lions head meatball is a must try. I loved the soft texture of it and it was flavorful. The green onion noodles were also really good. Very bouncy noodles and good green onion flavor. The soup dumplings were packed with lots of soup and held their shape well. Also really liked the spicy beef noodles. Not too spicy and also a great noodle texture.

Food quality and taste, service, and price all earned stars! Atmosphere was a little lacking however.

Some reviews say this is the original owner of Route 27, W Shanghai who sold the business and then opened this LaoWu restaurant. I totally believe it. The soupy dumplings (and all items we ordered) are way much better. Reasonable price too. However this is a small restaurant with tight seats and small table space.

Small place family run place. Very small so you may have to wait if busy and there is no place to wait except outside. The Soup dumplings were very good. The skin is a bit thicker then my favorite Joe Shanghai in Flushing, but the dumplings were larger and the soup flavor was awesome.

2023.02 haven’t had soup dumplings for long time. All food we ordered are good. Crunch cucumber, i love that taste, salty is right perfect to me. Drunken chicken is tender, they use cage free chicken. steam soup dumpling, wow, amazing, i haven’t have that for long time. Just as most Shanghai restaurant, they suppose to be heavy and salty. this one is not bad.

Authentic Shanghai eatery, nothing fancy but honest good food. I’ve followed this chef owner from his original restaurant in Highland Park to now this little eatery; juicy soup buns, duck tong, spicy beef, sour cabbage with fish filet noodle soup… Dining room is small so I’d recommend take out. Go check it out!

The crab meat soup dumplings are absolutely amazing. It’s probably one of the best crab meat soup dumplings I’ve ever had in my life so far, including the ones I’ve had in Shanghai.
