I’m not big on Mediterranean food, not because I don’t care for it, but because I don’t really find myself seeking it out, or have any friends who are really into it. That being said, with my limited Mediterranean experience, I liked this place. The food was good, the owner and his employee were both really friendly and helpful, and the fries – though not what I had envisioned from this ethnic restaurant – were unreasonably delicious. If you are in Van alstyne for some reason, this place is worth a visit.

The gyro meat and falafel wrap are amazing. The people there are very nice. The restaurant is clean and the decor is very nice. The French fries had something on them that was so delicious. Cannot say enough good things about this little shop. We’re so glad we stopped by for lunch. I will be back to try the Turkish coffee.

Nihilistic Tragedy
It is difficult to give anything a perfect rating but, Jafar’s deserves it! The menu options may be small but, they have definitely perfected every single item on their menu. They are also one of the few restaurants that have survived the pandemic. Many kudos to them!!!!

If you crave Middleastern and Mediterranean food like I do. Then this place fills the void fantastically. I had the curry ,hummus and gyro. All stellar and prepared freshly. And the owner is a really great guy as well. Super friendly and great conversationalist. All in all a delightful experience for your taste buds as well as your soul. My son and I were treated like family! If you’re looking for something different than the usual and to go on a true culinary experience. Then you have to come to this little out of the way Mediterranean cafe! Simply outstanding!

We are currently building in Van Alstyne and wanted to give some local food a try. We love Mediterranean cuisine and let me tell you we were NOT disappointed! We are stokes to have a place like this in a small community that we are moving to. Can’t wait to come back. Food was hot, fresh, and simply excellent. Service was great as well.

Perfection! There is not one bad thing I say about this restaurant! The service is awesome, the place is beautifully decorated and clean. The food, oh man, the food is delicious! I had the Turkish coffee and trust me when I say WOW, it is not for the faint of heart. I ordered the chicken curry on basmati rice with lentil soup and the hummus and it did not disappoint at all! Lastly, I had the baklava, it tasted like heaven with each bite!!! This is a must return soon kind of place!

All the food was amazing, I had the falafel salad. It tasted fresh, the falafel was great, but the side yogurt sauce was thick and delicious. It’s on a very charming main street in town and really well worth pulling off the highway for. I don’t think you’ll find a restaurant with this level of service and food anywhere nearby!
