Ordered and ate in. Food came and was hot but not much flavor. Pretty sure we got food poisoning for the past two days from here as we ate late then woke up feeling it and that was the only thing we had eaten that previous day for over 12 hours. Seems to need some help.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. It saddened me when their Seaside location closed because it was so close to my place of work, but whenever I make it to downtown Monterey, you can bet I am going to stop in for their Platillo de Pastor. Rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, corn tortillas, and a heaping pile of Al Pastor. They’ve got free chips and salsa, aguas frescas, and an entire assortment of Mexican specialties. This family owned restaurant doesn’t waste time with frills, instead focusing on quality food.

We ordered dinner togo here during our visit to Monterey and it was good. The service was good and the food portions were large. Some of the food was kind of salty, but overall we would say it was good.

Best authentic Mexican food on Alvarado. Definitely recommend the tacos. Tacos are a decent sized portion as well so two is all you need. Eating here can be super affordable.

Pretty solid Mexican food. The shrimp quesadilla was the best and I rate it a 5/5. The shrimp tacos were good as well, perhaps a 4/5. The fish taco was really fresh and a 4/5. A shrimp quesadilla, two fish tacos and two shrimp tacos costs 37 with tip. Good price to value ratio!

This place is an excellent stop for Mexican food in Monterey. My wife and I ordered a quesadilla and a burrito and both were excellent. The portions were large and the food was delicious. The service was quick and friendly as well. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

The food is JUICY like grab plenty of napkins juicy (i got the quesadilla) it was delicious though. It was the first place me and my husband visited when we checked in to our hotel. Some of the chairs were a little iffy, don’t sit in those if your drinking. Loved the serve yourself chips and salsa but some people took advantage of that by scooping it into their soda cups and leaving with it, but hey the salsa was good.
