This morning we decided to try the diner. The tables and floor were very clean. Our waitress was efficient without being intrusive. The food was abundant and delicious. We had the chipped beef over toast and the sausage gravy over biscuits. Everything was served in a very timely manner. Well be back!

Went in with my partner, sister in law and our daughter. We were told they could not accommodate the pork allergy that our daughter and sister in law have. They didn’t offer any solutions, when I asked if they could use a pan they said maybe. This was a disappointing visit as I was excited to see the place reopened.

The Hollywood diner has come along way since I first visited more than 20-years ago. The staff must enjoy working here cause they would chat and laugh when crossing paths. It was clean and the staff was very attentive. Nicole was an amazing server and kept us entertained!

Tried the Fish n Chips basket for dinner. Hot, fresh, crispy with seasoned fries. Good!

This was my first visit to Hollywood Diner. A friend went while visiting Dover and truly enjoyed. I felt comfortable and the food was good. My grits were just as I like them, and the veggie omelet was filled with vegetables. Coffee was good also. Will try them again and hope for the same experience.

Great food at great prices, served by great people in a great looking old-school feeling diner. We love it there; portions are generous and we’ve yet to order a single menu item that we were disappointed with. Highly recommended.

I feel every town should have a place for good authentic southern cooking, an Irish Pub and of course a local traditional American Diner! The Hollywood Diner has some local history, which is why several patrons were sad to see the former diner close. I recall the day the current owner first stopped by with a young man I believe to be his son to check out the abandoned shell. You could see love in his eyes as he looked at the barebones of a past local landmark. He looked past the “For Sale” sign into a future he shaped in his mind. So naturally… I had to check out the place. My theory was the love glare he gave would be transferred into the decor, atmosphere and the food. I missed the opening day, but the long lines outside occupied by the maturity center’s finest truly told a story! So, today I finally had the chance to visit, and I expected something… umm… more like the 80’s “Mel’s Diner” to be honest with Flo asking me to kiss her grits. You know something more unmistakable American, the “Diner” feel. I will spare you further suspense, the food may have just been on an off-day. Although it was 7am the food was lukewarm, seemed to be under the weather… but still well flavored. I had a ribeye steak w/ 3 sunny side up eggs, toast, grits, coffe and orange juice. Of course, right!? The service was good. I do recommend that you stop by, perhaps your food experience will be more… steamy, or hot? Or at least right off the Southern Grille.

Ehhh the food was ok. The best thing was the waffle. Everything else wasn’t very tasty and my boyfriend didn’t enjoy his meal either. Prefer Smileys diner from now on as a Dover resident.

We are lovers of the old Hollywood Diner. So it was only right to check out the new spot. At first we were waiting at the front the server seemed confused on where to seat us. Once seated we were served drinks by a familiar face from when it was there before. That was refreshing. Only bad thing was the coughing . The Pepsi was flat. My kids and wife got breakfast I sided for lunch. The eggs were not fully cooked and my daughters Sunny side up were too raw. The potatoes were burnt and too hard to enjoy. My turkey was salty. But the gravy was good. I did not like the cold mash. They also were out of alot so I lost out on a side and was not offered anything else. The crab balls were delicious. (Not pictured) I taught a server to make remoulade. Because they brung out cocktail sauce for my crab balls. Overall the food was ok but will give it like a 3. We’ll come back and redo this after I give them some time to settle in. Thank you for coming back just be 24hrs again
