First course of crispy eggplant (baingan chutneywala) and chickpeas (tokree ki chaat) were delicious! Shareable main course were more of a fusion type, catering to American palate. If you want some heat, make sure to request for it… the spice blends in the dishes are very flavorful. Plating looks very appetizing. Glad with their BYOB policy. The ambience does not reflect the pricey menu (as per my Indian husband 🙂 ) Host/server is very pleasant.

We arrived early for dinner because we did not have reservations and it turned out to be a wise choice on a Saturday evening since a majority of tables had been reserved. The vibe is a little weird, but there was a steady flow of take out customers, a good sign. We took on a cramped window seat and were attended to quite nicely, and cauliflower soup arrived shortly thereafter, complimentary. I had an incredible appetizer, tulsi mango shrimp. Chicken and saag paneer, bangan barta. The barta was loaded with peas however and somewhat non traditional. Excellent service at reasonable cost. We left a hefty cash tip and drove back to LI happy.

We’ve dined at Veda multiple times and each time we’ve been extremely satisfied. This time, we decided to order food from Veda for our housewarming party. To begin with, we requested for full trays of entrees for the party. The chef not only helped us out with the menu but also advised us to order half trays considering the number of people we were expecting. Surprisingly, even the half trays were more than enough for the party, we had plenty left. Everyone loved the food. The starters, dahi ke kabab and tokree ki chaat were a big hit and so were the jamuns. Highly recommend Veda, be it dining in or catering for parties!

Loved the food. It’s unlike usual Indian restaurants which serve tomato based gravies! The food was on the point and looked fresh, delicious. The servers were attentive. Ambience is great. Definitely going here over and over again.

Not sure what happened to this restaurant but their food today was awful. Used to order a lot from them and was rarely disappointed . Today 2 out of 5 dishes went straight to the garbage after taking a bite and the rest were just ok. And to add to the unfortunate event, we found hair in the lamb biryani. we will not give it another try.
