One of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in a while. The ambience, food and service are a vibe that you don’t want to miss when coming to New York. The flavors of the dishes are truly unmatched leaving you beyond satisfied. Each plate we tried was well thought from the sauces and garnishes. Truly a flavor explosion. Don’t skip out on the veg dumplings, chicken lettuce wraps and the pad Thai noodles. The highlight of the night was the Potted Carrot Cake. Our waiter told us it was genius, and he was right. I won’t give away the spoiler so you can find out for yourself how amazing it is. Definitely will be return to Tao in the future.

Oh my goodness what can I say?? It was soooo good!!! I got the NYC restaurant week deal 2 course lunch for $30. The appetizer was so fulfilling it was like a meal unto itself and was so delicious!! I got the minced chicken lettuce wraps. And for the entree I got the tiger hangar steak which was incredible! For a $5 dessert I got the Chocolate Zen Parfait which wasn’t bad but not my personal favorite. Next time I would try a different dessert.

Super cool interior decor and atmosphere! Our waitress was great & very knowledgeable about the menu. Pictured is the sake flight, chicken lettuce wraps, sweet & spicy shrimp, kung pao chicken, and Ruby red martini. Everything was delicious! The shrimp was a little too fried for me, but flavor was great nonetheless. The menu had lots of good options so it was hard to decide what we wanted, but everything was tasty. Glad we tried it!

Tao Uptown Manhattan is best known for its Asian ambiance and decor. The restaurant has a bar/lounge area and two levels of seating, which includes tables and booths – all under the watchful eye of a giant Buddha statue and under scrolls that drape the ceiling. Although Tao has become well known and is a touristy spot, they have still retained good food and service. It had been a while since my last visit, but the food was just as I remembered it and the service was decent – the hostess was a little better than our server, but nothing terrible except that he could have been more attentive. I enjoy the pad thai noodles and for dessert, the legendary giant fortune cookie is a must.

I’ve been here a few times. I know the food and the atmosphere. Because it wasn’t like I wanted to have a great meal, the food was good enough with my bar not high. But I was stunned to find that they charge heinous $9 for a bowl of rice.. I ordered the prix fix lunch menu ($29.95 for an appetizer a meal, $5 extra if ordering dessert too). I thought the food would be better with rice. It was. But what if I knew plain white rice was $9??

Came here without a reservation and they were able to seat us. We ordered the tuna tartar on crispy rice, shrimp pad thai, and honey glazed salmon. Food was good but not great and definitely felt overpriced for what it was. Our server was kind and attentive. Restaurant is very dimly lit.

Good food and cool environment. Nothing extraordinary. Great service. If you’re short on budget get their 3-course lunch menu from Mon-Friday at just $30 plus tax and tip.

Their cocktails are really good. Specially would recommend tao cocktail. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was really excellent which felt like I’m in Asia especially Hong Kong. Would visit this place again.

Really nice vibes and great food. The pork potstickers, sushi rolls, sweet and sour shrimp dishes are to die for. The fried rice plates are a bit dry and so-so. Waiters tend to rush you a little and aren’t that friendly.

Went for the lunch special, not a bad prefixed menu. I picked the hanger steak chicken lettuce wrap and banana pudding, If you’re extra hungry, I recommend the regular menu since it is a smaller portion but definitely was delicious.
