First time here,.ordered the catfish dinner which comes with rice, one side, and a piece of cornbread. My side was candy yams. I came 15 minutes before closing, so most of the sides besides the veggies were out.

My visit to this place was awesome. My favorite thing was all the black memorabilia and recognition. It truly looks like a soul food place it reminded me of some thing I would see in Chicago or Detroit .the portion size WILD it took me three different meals to eat all the meatloaf. The yams were great a little on the sweet side. The macaroni and cheese was definitely homemade. It was great. Everything was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place to others who are looking for Southern style cooking black homemade cooking. Like your granny made it yeah, this is the place for that. And it was very affordable. You can’t beat that I got everything for under $20 .They have a wide variety of items on their menu. I’ll definitely have to visit again and try the breakfast.

Food as always was amazing I got beef ribs and cabbage with wild rice. The service is fast and the staff is always friendly helpful and polite! Some days are better than others this was an off day I guess the sides are horrible, rice is overdone and feel like grits and the cabbage was wilted and rotting before chopped and cooked from the looks of it.

The food was excellent, service was excellent and the location right in the heart of the neighborhood, right off the expressway. The beef ribs and oxtail were very tender, all of the sides were very well seasoned, reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking in SC. We’ll definitely be back for seconds. Overall, everything is good. But the meatloaf is way too meaty( big)and wasn’t fully cooked. All the way threw. The yams were really watery. A lot of Flies seems to be in the restaurant whenever I’m there.
