This place is wonderful! They have a couple dozen versions of their veal chop. They definitely know how to prepare veal well! I had the one stuffed with mozzarella and topped with mushrooms. Also served with Cesar’s salad and lasagna (your choice of pasta or side). Mom and I loved the lasagna. Sister enjoyed the chicken Alfredo, though it was a little more buttery than she prefers. The oil that comes with the bread has AMAZING flavor! Calimari was large, but nothing special. Service was excellent. Prices were fair considering the high caliber food, service, and environment. Don’t be surprised to spend a lot.

Love the veal chops! Got just what I was expecting and wanting- perfect score marks and delish! Bolognese pasta on the side was just alright- wouldn’t say it would make the cut if I’d ordered that as a main (sauce could have been richer), but everything tastes better with heaping scoops of Parmesan. Nice touch to offer side pasta and salad with the chops.

The food was alright not much flavor to it. At least not one of the dishes we ordered. The service was alright, since our server would take a long time to check up on us. The desserts were also alright, we ordered tiramisu and cannoli. The cannoli was better than the tiramisu. Overall the thing I did enjoy was the bread and oil dip.

My wife and I are Naples residents but never tried Sophia’s. We finally tried the restaurant this week. The claim is, the best “Italian” in Naples. Clearly they are not. The staff, although prompt, are without character and boring. The bread is good but the oil dip is just that….oil only and no balsamic mix. The waiter was taken aback when we asked for some balsamic for the oil and he offered to get some if we really wanted it. Veal Marsala is one of my favorites and what was presented was the worst I had ever tasted….it was flat, cool and tasteless. The side dish of pasta was presented with little sauce and water in the bottom of the dish (a taboo for italian dishes)….also without significant taste. I could go on, but this establishment is expensive and so not worth the money you pay to eat here. Sorry for the rating, but it’s the truth. There’s much better “Italian” in Naples than Sophia’s.

The food was excellent, atmosphere and service wonderful. We were a party of four and we all enjoyed our meals. The veal parmigiana was very tender and the sauce was perfect. We had cheese cake and tiramisu for dessert and loved every bite. Highly recommend Sophia’s for a great meal and a nice night out.
