Visiting from out of town, 5 of us stopped in for dinner. Downtown Spartanburg is on the upswing, and the Peddler Steakhouse is part of it. Decorated beautifully. Overall, it was just OK and did not live up to our expectations. Our hostess was somewhat unaccomidaiting when we asked for a table instead of a booth, so we just pushed two tables together…. problem solved. Our servers seemed a bit pretentious in their approach and presentation. The artichoke dip and shrimp cocktail appetizers were great. The salad card was different and fun, and the salads were fresh and tasty. Four of us had ribeyes, and all were underwelmed. The salty carimal dessert was awesome. All in all, the experience was just OK. Will probably try other steak options next time.

Service was good and food was excellent! A little weird that no menus were used so you had to remember was the waiter described. And of course the price was a surprise when the bill came at the end! In all fairness my bill was $97 for 2 people for 8 oz filet with a side and a salad which considering current prices at higher end restaurants was not too bad.

Service was excellent. We came in on a Saturday night around 6:50. We wanted to do reservations but they only do them for party’s of 6 or more, we had 4. They told us it would be a 2hr wait. With all the good reviews and it being my oldest son’s birthday we waited. Instead of 2hr it was only 1hr and 47min. I’ll say the stake I had was really good. I don’t think I would wait that long again ,maybe for an hour. The salad I got was also really good. The French onion soup has to be the best I’ve tried in the upstate so far. I would say if you’re in the mood for a great stake give them a try.

Excellent service and delicious food! We had a great experience and enjoyed our appetizer (artichoke dip), salads, entrees, and dessert. Our server, Corey, was polite and attentive. The wait to be seated was a bit long (90 minutes), but it was worth it. I would definitely visit again on a less crowded night.

My husband and I went for the first time for date night… it was romantic yet still family friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! The waiters were all very nice and polite and very attentive. Definitely going to go back!!!
