Ordered shawarma and the chicken was way dry..grape leaves with meat were hot. Hummus was whipped like yogurt no texture and tubule has way too much parsley. I am Lebanese and the food quality has gone down in Detroit.

Food was quite good-loved their hummus and Pita bread. Rather pricey though. They are geared more for carryout for sure. Servings were average, no leftovers but you left feeling full. They forgot the salad dressing for the fatoosh. No big deal, we just went back up to the counter to get some. However, had this been a carryout order, that’d have been a bummer. The people behind the counter were friendly. If we are walking that way again we may stop by for some chow.

I do not understand why there isn’t a line out the door for this place. The food was absolutely delicious and a LOT. The chicken schwarma, lemon rice soup… didn’t know id get a big pile of fries and some really good hummus and pita. Had to take the hummus and pita for lunch the next day. Maybe places like this are more common in the Detroit metro area….but I have to believe if there was a Mediterranean place this good by me…..it would be difficult to get in. The closest to me is The Beirut in Toledo….and thats still more than an hour from me….. what delicious food at Ike’s. Definitely on the go to list for me when I’m in this area.

I get the same thing every time, the chicken shawarma (which is what they are known for) with rice and stew and pay a little extra for the tabouli and it slaps. I have tried the gyro and it’s pretty good too. Also, not a big hummus fan but there’s is the best I have had at a middle eastern restaurant.

Strange dine in experience today. I’ve been going to Ike’s for years and the food is great but today I decided to dine in. Mind you it was close to their closing time and it had just started to lightly snow. I knew they close at 7pm, what didn’t know was that I was going to get pushed out of their restaurant exactly at 7pm. I thought maybe they would be friendly and let me stay for a few minutes while they finish cleaning, but instead one of the employees decided to POP a bag exactly at 7pm to apparently get my attention to leave, STRANGE and RUDE! Why not just say “hey we’re going to close up in a few minutes can I get you anything else?”. Anyone would get the hint and leave. Instead I left thinking what the heck just happened! Time to find a new Lebanese restaurant, since I’ll feel embarrassed stepping foot back in their store again!
