RUN HEEERRRREEE! Casareccio 2.0! For those of you that knew and loved Casarecccio and cried when it closed due to crazy rents, you’ll be thrilled to know they’re back! Food is just as fresh and delicious as it always was. Same staff, same chef except now you order it at a counter instead of at a table. This is the best Italian I have had outside of Italy, and second to that…New Jersey. Don’t hate. It’s inside the new food hall in Pompano “The Bites Eatery”. Be patient with parking or get creative. Totally worth it. Pictured here: Stuffed Artichoke (perfection), Orecchiette w/ Sausage & Broccoli Rabe. Pic of Food Hall- clean and lovely, nice staff. Bar in the center for drinks! No reason to go anywhere else for Italian. Literally no reason.

5 stars pizza. Handcrafted and from the scratch. Ask for the pesto to dip your pizza. They have Italian soda Chinotto. Very nice service. The espresso coffee was also 5 stars. Congrats guys. Congratulazioni.

If you ever ate at Casareccio on Federal Hwy by McNabb, I know you must lament it’s closing. Here’s the great news: Lovely Emilia and Sal have re-opened as Mama Mia Pasta and More at 2715 East Atlantic Blvd in Pompano. Mama Mia is in Bite Eatery, an upscale food hall, but has the same amazing food as before, plus pizza! We just ate there, and I had my all-time favorite: Chicken Ensalda. It is soooooo good! And Sal makes his own burrata cheese for the dish. Yum! If you miss Casareccio or you’ve never tried Sal’s food, make your way to Mama Mia ASAP!!

My wife and I have been to Italy and Mama Mia’s is the real deal. The Gnocci was the best I’ve had in the United States. The staff was also wonderful, helpful and passionate about the food they are serving. I highly recommend it!
