My wife & I have been going to Star of India in Ferndale for years and always had good food. Today we tried it again to see how the new owners have done. The answer is FANTASTIC! Highly recommend! Delicious food, awesome servers, and nice ambiance! The food was very tasty! We brought family in from out of town who have never had Indian food before. We asked our server what his recommendations were and it did not disappoint! We started off with samosas, eggplant pakora, and an onion bhajee. We ordered one side of naan and one garlic naan – perfect! Our main dishes were chicken tikka masala, shrimp jalfrezi, mixed tandoori, a lentil soup, chicken dansak, and kadai paneer – which wasn’t on the menu but they made it for my husband. We were treated with the best hospitality – owner and servers made our experience even better! We will definitely be repeat customers for many years!

We (my husband, daughter, and I) get takeout from Star of India almost every Friday. It is consistently delicious, and the staff are wonderful! The restaurant changed ownership earlier this year and we were concerned that the quality would decline, but it hasn’t!
