What a fantastic find!! There were no restaurants at all along a long stretch of Hwy. 2 in Nebraska when heading home to Kansas City. Searching “breakfast spots,” the Spring Garden Cafe was among several in Nebraska City. It was the typical cafe in a small town but the menu offerings were big time. We joined others who looked like locals. Three gentlemen seemed like they were conducting a city council business session. My wife and I ordered eggs, pancakes and bacon, which were excellent, as was the coffee. So was the service. The food, the friendly staff and the ‘down-home’ atmosphere made our morning. Great place!

My husband and I had a very bad weekend. Everything we planned was rained out or just plain terrible. Then we found the Spring Garden Cafe and we were VERY happy we did! The Cafe didn’t look like much on the outside but inside was clean and roomy, the staff was friendly and attentive. And the food was DELICIOUS. We dine out for breakfast a lot and this was the best, hands down. Prices were good too. We want to go back as soon as we can.

Not the best places I’ve ever eaten at, not the worst, kinda dirty when we ate there this morning (and yet there was only 1 or 2 other people there). Coffee tasted like hot flavored water. I might not say no to eating there, but it wouldn’t be my pick.

The waitress was amazing. I can’t recall her name but my kids would politely ask her for a refill of chocolate milk. It’s a very down at home type of feeling and that’s the best!

Great prices and really good food. Very friendly staff. We really enjoyed the friendly bantering amongst the staff and locals. My husband loves catfish and he said it was one of the best fried catfish he had ever had. His exact words were They F—ing Nailed the batter!
