Located on the Downtown Long Beach Promenade, right across from Harvey Milk Park, sits an assuming Italian restaurant. The food quality is fantastic, the wine hits the right notes, and the service and decor are wonderful. It is one of the few quality Italian restaurants in LB that is open on Mondays.

We were at The Stave and ordered the Margherita pizza it took 45 mins to get to our table, and it was cold. We asked for another one, and it came back in 10 mins, and I’m pretty sure they took it back, heated it, and gave it back. The pizza was not anything to be proud of. Stave is a nice place, but the pizza from Michael’s was not good at all. Would definitely not order again

I go to the ordinaire often and the food and service is exceptional. Wanted to try this and to be honest the spinach ricotta was delicious. The service was mediocre. I didn’t like that the food didn’t come with salad and bread. It just felt stuffy. Didn’t feel like Long Beach to me. I think this is more of a place for older people. The energy, other than the cleaning guys was kind of blah. The waitress was nice enough but it just lacked flavor!! I didn’t feel excited or stimulated. Good place to order food to go or take older parents.

Just ok. A bit pricey for what you get. I get why people like it but I also feel it’s a bit overrated. You can get a better tasting pizza, larger size, at a better price at several pizza-focused places in Long Beach such as Little Coyote. On the other hand, it can be hard to find a good pasta in Long Beach and the ravioli I got at Michael’s was quite good. I liked the layers of flavor coming from ingredients such as sage and pistachio. The pasta dough seemed to be hand made which gave it a great texture. At the same time, I don’t see myself seeking it out for $25. I was still hungry after eating it which was a let down because of the price.

Winter Rose
Took forever to get water and a waiter when we first arrived. Food wasn’t anything to rave over and the waiter did forget our first drink order but he comped it which is why I give 4/5.
