Along with their sister restaurant, Kahlo’s, Tarascos Mexican restaurant is one of the best spots in Denver for authentic Michoacán cuisine. The mole negro is fantastic and worth the visit on its own. The owners have created an atmosphere of casual intellectualism with wise statements and thoughtful comments posted around the restaurant. Among the best features are vegetarian and vegan options on the menu with a staff eager to please their customers. There’s no facade of pretense targeted towards a snobby clientele. This is a restaurant for the people. I will continue to be a regular customer.

This place is great! It’s a small restaurant with a big menu. Plenty to choose from, aguas frescas and good food. The decorations are very cool, and all the walls and ceiling are decorated. Had the Melon and Pepino aguas and tasted very refreshing. Both our meals were good. I had the chicken chimichanga, and my partner had the quesobirria tacos, all tasted good. We did not have a chance to eat desert since we were full. Also liked that they were playing good rock music at the time. Good priced and good location. Will be back to try more food!

Huge disappointment! The burrito had only meat in it, no beans or rice. It was smothered in an almost sweet sauce and had absolutely no kick to it. I gave one more star because the margarita was decent. There are so many tasty Mexican spots on Federal that I don’t think we will be back.

This was a great find! Lots of really fun drinks combinations as well as fruit smoothies. Our order was really good and full of heart and love. Definitely will be going back to try more on the menu.

The best Mexican food I’ve had, we came for chips and salsa which were just okay, but WOW that Quesabirria is muy bien!!! I mean just outta this world, give this place a try, you won’t regret it 10/10

Absolutely stunning mole. The salsa that comes with the chips to start the meal off was nice and spicy, with lots of chile flavour. I had a tamal oaxaqueño and my friend ordered enchiladas verses, both of which completely floored us. They have a huge selection of juices and aquas frescas, so it’s a great place to go if you’re not into alcohol. I will have to be back to try their carnitas and fried ice cream.

Great little spot with varied menu and LOVED dessert- the churros were SO good ! Steak was pretty tough in enchiladas, but overall nice food and local hole in the wall vibes.

The burrito was soggy and falling apart with the foil barely able to contain it. There was also no meat in the burrito when I received it. The listing said it would come with ham. If you’re not Mexican, they will overcharge you, especially on takeout. I noticed I got charged 5 dollars extra somehow and went online to calculate how much the meal should cost.

Amazing food! Small restaurant with a great menu and lots of variety. A little spicy but nothing a drink of cold water won’t help. I don’t like much spice but it really made the dishes taste so good and didn’t burn your lips off. They have lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes that are marked on the menu. Juices that are from just veggies or fruits. The decor is very cool too!!

I went on a date here last week and was so happy with this place. The location is not necessarily ideal as they’re right next to a bunch of sketchy closed businesses, but once you’re inside you forget all about that. The menu is extensive and there are LOTS of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options!! as a vegetarian, I’m not used to that many choices but I loved it. They let us taste their Mole sauce, which was good (I’m just not a fan of mole in general). We got the huevos rancheros (I asked for it with all the veggies the chef wanted to put in), zucchini enchiladas, and a crispy Chile relleno. The dessert was deep fried ice cream with churros (literally some of the best churros I’ve ever tasted). To say we were impressed is an understatement.
