Always love to try a new Mexican restaurant!! As you can see in the picture this is how they bring salsa out. Not always having to ask for more and more. Just pour it yourself since they set the whole things on the table. Queso was very very good and I’ve never had it with bread brought out but that’s how they do it and it’s great. Salsa is definitely spicy. I love spicy salsa but this was up there in spice and flavor. We tried the chicken fajitas, a cheese enchilada, chicken tacos with a corn and a flour tortilla. We also got a steak taco with corn tortilla and queso fresca. We also got besitos. All the food was excellent. I had never had besitos before anywhere and was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor and crisp top. Enchilada was a cheese one with queso and it was thick cheese inside and very very good. Fajitas were amazing and that’s the main thing I get at any Mexican restaurant to try. All the tacos were great. Service was great as well. Very friendly waitress and other staff. When our cups were half full they were filling them up. Food brought out in a timely manner and had welcomes coming in and thanks going out by staff. Very friendly atmosphere and tons of decorations to look at all around while sitting there. There are 2 locations in Tyler as I know and this one is the one that doesn’t serve alcohol. The other one does. I don’t drink so I’m sure either is fine to go to. Definitely recommend trying this place if you are looking for Tex mex but a little different style than your usual brands of restaurants you see everywhere. Enjoy!!!

The chips were stale, the salsa was too hot. I ordered Chicken Verdes Enchiladas and there was approximately 1 tsp of the sauce. My daughter ordered a Beef Chile Relleno which was served dry with a tiny cup of green sauce to put on top.

If I’m downtown, I will absolutely be stopping at the location off the Square. Delicious food for an excellent price!

Ordered the so called Fajitas for two. This is definitely amongst the worst fajitas I have had. First, it is steak and not fajita meat. Second, cut in chuncks not in strips like fajitas. Third, tasteless. Fourth, tough as leather. Finally, had to bring them home to recook them and prepare them to be even edible to eat. Do not recommend this plate.

First time here. Came here for dinner with my husband and kids. The food was great! However, I am only giving this 4 stars because of the service we received.

If you like authentic Mexican food, you will enjoy Don Juan’s. Prices are reasonable, food is hot when served, and they have daily specials. I recommend Don Juan’s on Erwin Street.

Busy Sunday afternoon, food was a little slow coming out, but drinks and chips stayed full while we waited. Our go-to place for a couple of birthday folks in our family that are diehard fans.

Very fresh and delicious authentic Mexican food! Great location. The family owns several other restaurants here in the area! Very friendly service. The Downtown location sells alcohol. This one does not.
